Great experience

We booked our stay sometime ago, and on reading recent reviews prior to our trip I was extremely concerned regarding the air conditioning and standard of room.
Please don’t let these reviews deter you from booking a stay at the Vendôme, !!! We were greeted with a complementary glass of champagne, staff were very helpful and friendly, our room was spotless, breakfast was delightful, the air conditioning worked well despite the temperatures outside being 35 degrees. The location of the hotel was ideally suited to explore the cities sites on foot and we felt very safe in the area.
We booked directly through with the hotel and found the B&B option to be good value for money for a long weekend.
Bear in mind when booking a trip to Paris that the majority of the attractions are closed on a Tuesday.

AC does not work and manager doesn’t care

Upon checking in we noticed it was a little warm in the lobby. We asked about it and they told us the technician is working on it and it will improve. We were put on the 5th floor. Upon exiting the elevator we felt this rush of heat hit us. We went into the room and it was also warm. We called immediately and they told us that it will improve and will send a technician to our room to check it out. A technician never came. We took a cold shower and tried to fall asleep as we had been traveling all day. In the morning we asked for a lower level room or if they can put us in another one of their local hotels and they said that they would look into it while we were out into town. They had a good breakfast and the cook truly cares about the food. They had a portable AC in the dining room and that gave us some relief. I can get past the tiny shower that if you bend over you pop open the door since that’s what’s to be expected from a boutique hotel. The view from my window was a Beautiful street and building but I couldn’t even leave it open due to the heat. Upon our return they said that they placed fans in our rooms and that a technician is working on it and it would improve. It did not. I pleaded with them to please move us since our son is developing a heat rash. They refused to offer us any other options other than keep your curtains closed, lights off and use the fan. Upon the third day of this we asked for a partial refund and Maxime the hotel manager refused. I asked him to come up to the room so he can feel what we had been feeling and he smiled and said I will not do that and that there is nothing he can do he handed me a business card and said we can write to request a refund. This was most likely to send me away. I addressed his lack of empathy and leadership as he had his staff lie to us about the air conditioner getting fixed. I asked him once more to come feel our room and to tell me what I should have done differently to prevent my child from developing a heat rash due to their hot rooms and he said, there’s nothing I can do and thank you for visiting the Melia Vendome. I walked away because his poor customer service skills were not going to serve me or my family. DO NOT stay at the Melia Vendome.

Hot and Dumpy in Paris

This place is definitely not 4 stars. Our room was dirty and the carpet was filthy and falling apart. The air conditioner stopped working during very hot temperatures. We complained at the front desk and one of their male works got very aggressive with me and my sister and we didn't feel safe staying there but Costco travel told us that all other hotels were booked up. Location is good but we warned this place is a dump.

Do not stay here, complete catfish!

I’m not sure how this hotel is rated as high as it was! The MOLD all over our room was disgusting! The smell throughout the hotel and especially in our room was HORRIBLE, and NO A/C. They had a fan running in our room for the 72 hrs we were there! I wouldn’t dare walk barefoot on the floors! There was water bubbles all over the walls throughout the building and water lines coming down the walls as well! I would NEVER suggest anyone stay here! The only thing they have good going for them is location and Emilio, he was an amazing employee and so hard working!

No A/C management having employees like customers

The air conditioning was unable to keep the rooms comfortable. Our room stayed between 79–81°F the entire stay. While we were in the lobby, multiple families were asking the staff to help them find other hotels, and some were checking out early because the rooms were simply too hot. Even at 4:00 a.m., with outside temperatures around 71°F, the rooms never cooled down. We stayed for three days they offered us a fan and they kept telling me it was going get better and never did. We asked to move down stairs since the higher the floor you go it was hotter and they would not accommodate us because they had more people checking in that day. They have various sister hotels in Paris, we asked to be moved to one that has working AC and they refused. Very disappointing experience.

We recognize the air conditioning did not provide adequate cooling during your stay despite our team providing supplementary fans, as our centrally controlled seasonal system operates within specific parameters.
We regret room relocation requests could not be accommodated due to occupancy constraints during check-in periods, and alternative arrangements with sister properties were not feasible given their independent operational policies.
The challenges with maintaining comfortable temperatures overnight are noted, particularly in upper floor rooms where airflow patterns differ.
