Hotel and location were top-notch.

We spent a night in this establishment excellently located on a quiet street in Paris.
The hotel is situated just a few steps from the Montparnasse train station, with many restaurants and performance venues nearby.
Our room was tastefully decorated with a view of the Eiffel Tower.

Great location for bars, restaurants, and ease of getting around the city on the transport. The bed was huge and very comfortable, bathroom clean and had all essentials. Even slippers and robes provided. Would highly recommend.

I arrived feeling tired and weary as the railway station was closed. The staff and the room were amazing I was able to relax and leave refreshed

A big disappointment

An adorable welcome and decent bedding and a hearty breakfast buffet, but...
When you choose a 4* hotel, from the Mercure chain, you don't expect to enter a room where the trash can hasn't been emptied (the kettle neither, how old is the water?)... Issue rectified upon reporting to the front desk.
You also don't expect the presence of long hairs in the bathroom, nor soap marks on the shower wall...
And you also don't expect an absence of shower gel in the dispenser when you are already wet...
Thanks to the front desk manager for their immediate commercial gesture, and for their promise of a deep clean and refilling of the shower gel during the day...
Clearly bad luck, no additional cleaning was done during the day, nor was the shower gel refilled, which had to be requested again in the evening.
Good.
Disastrous experience but kind staff...

Great location, but serious cleanliness issues

The only reason I am giving this hotel two stars is its excellent location. While the room itself is spacious enough for three people, the cleanliness is unacceptable. There is a stain on the carpet that looks exactly like vomit, and there is visible damp/moisture on the walls (as shown in the attached pictures). The toilet has been smelly ever since we arrived.

I am truly sorry that the cleanliness of your room did not meet the standards you should expect from a Mercure hotel. The situation you describe regarding the carpet stain, the moisture on the walls, and the unpleasant smell in the bathroom is certainly not acceptable and does not reflect the quality of service we aim to provide to our guests.
Your comments have been shared with our management team and the relevant departments so that the necessary actions can be taken and these points can be addressed with our teams.
