Great Location, Friendly, Interested, & Helpful Host

This hotel is located in the heart of Paris, 2 mins from the sentier metro and 5 mins from the Chatelet Des Halles metro & shopping mall, Surrounded by pedestrian streets with loads of typical french restaurants, cafés, bar, pattiseries, boulangeries etc.
The rooms were, as expected, small but clean and the continental breakfast of coffee, pain, croissant, cheeses, yogurt and orange juice were more than adequate. I would add a choice of cereal but that is a small personal choice.
The host, Brahim, was very helpful, interested and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble.
I would recommend this hotel for a citybreak any time.

Small but clean and comfortable

I recommend this hotel to travellers who don't need a lot of bells and whistles. The room we stayed in had two twin beds each with a side table a desk and big closet. you will have to unpack because there is no floor space for open suitcases.
The bathroom is TINY but CLEAN. The shower always had hot water and good water pressure - no issues with toilet either. not a lot of plugs for charging up electronics (I unplugged my bedside lamp) but again, this is an old hotel.
We usually stay in an apartment rental when we stay in this area but it was not available this time. Hotel Bellan was a good back-up option. The location is super, near metro stops, buses and cafés.
Tiny elevator: holds one person+one suitcase at a time but it works just fine. When we left, we put the 2 suitcases in and sent it down while we took the stairs.
This is a renovated euro-style hotel not a north-american deal so if you need a lot of space book somewhere else. Otherwise this place is really nice and the owner was very friendly.
NB: there are no "Do not disturb" signs at this place so tell the front desk should you not want the cleaning staff to enter your room before say noon, like us. We are late sleepers!

Shabby and Overpriced (and Bugs)...Seek Shelter Elsewhere

I ended up at Hotel Bellan after my travel partner refused to let me make a hotel booking before we got to Paris, and he selected it without my approval. The bed was decently comfortable, but the decor was really shabby, the bathroom had a few creepy crawly bugs (and was TINY), and the price was insane for what you were getting. I would never return there and could not recommend it to anyone. The neighborhood was nice, but there were other hotels around that looked much better.

The Location and neighborhood

The location is everything, loved waking up in this neighborhood , abundance of restaurants and cafes and walking distance to anywhere in the city.
The hotel is clean, staff are friendly, it’s just average 3 star so don’t expect anything fancy . I would stay again because of the price and location

Excellent location and staff

Very cute little hotel in a great part of Paris. Lots of shops and restaurants to choose from. It is walking distance from the Metro as well as the Louvre. The rooms are small but comfortable. Our only real complaint is the size of the shower stall. It is quite cramped. The hotel is on a noisy street but the windows in the room block mostly all street noise. The price is right so you ca't go wrong.
