Don't judge a book by its cover!

This hotel is at a traffic light junction on the outskirts of Dunkirk and on first appearance, your heart sinks thinking what have I done. If you miss a timed opening slot, then you have to go and find a cafe/toilet nearby to while away the time and if it was a miserable day, then that is depressing as the hotel is nowhere near the old town is 8 miles away from the ferry terminal. BUT persevere and everything will be alright. The other problem for those with dodgy legs is that there is no lift/elevator and the staircase is narrow. Now for the good news. The first floor bedroom fronted the main road (but the double glazing adequately sound proofed the room and the bedroom was clean as was the excellent shower room. There is a restaurant on the ground floor which is very good (see separate review). Parking is in the road outside or in a small free public car park in the side road.

Un superbe restaurant.

Nous avons organisé avec 16 amis une soirée au Vent d’ange.
Accueil sympathique, service agréable et un menu gastronomique bien cuisiné, bien présenté dans un cadre agréable et de superbes produits frais .

Un délice ! Un régal ! Excellent +++

De la mise en bouche au dessert rien à dire ! Deux menus au choix ! 24 € eT 32€ Avec au choix la possibilité pour 15€ de plus d'avoir l'accord de vins . Nous avons pris deux menus à 24€ eT en rapport qualité prix c est le TOP ! Le produit est mis en valeur ! Mise en bouche aux Poireaux Maroilles je n'aurait jamais parier sur cette association et pourtant un régal ! Pour l'entrée Sorbet cornichon excellent Avec le presse de jarret de cochon ! Asperges œuf parfait crumble parmesan délicieux . Nous arrivons au plat ! Pièce de bœuf mais pas Que ... cuisson parfaite eT valeur ajoutée à ce plat ! Fondue d'échalotes , échalotes confites et jus de viande au vin rouge ... frites Maisonnnnn hummmm pour le dessert assiette de fromages (5 morceaux ) et cafe gourmand ( 3 sucres différend ) au top rien a redire , le service est discret et attentionné ! Petit plus serviette en tissu à table serviette en coton individuelle aux toilettes ! Addition plus que correct ! Je ne comprend pas d ailleurs pourquoi il n y a pas plus d'avis à ce Restaurant ! Quand ce n'est pas Bien on s'empresse de mettre Quelque chose mais Quand c est au top ... nous reviendrons soyez en Sur !!!

Un vrai restaurant gastronomique pour guère plus cher qu’une brasserie. Des saveurs, des textures, une formule de vin au verre innovante, service au niveau, le tout dans un décor baroque, de la qualité plutôt que la quantité, bref, on y retournera.

J'y suis allé une dizaine de fois et je n'ai jamais été déçu
