Good for a shorter stay

Pleasant stay for a chain.
Better than expected.

Great breakfast with extensive hot & cold food .
Nice view of the town & river ( Loire)
Quiet at night
We opted for the prestige room which was large with mini fridge ( not noisy ) & large bed .
Very clean
Bottled water and can refill each day downstairs in the bar
Bathroom things replenished each day
Friendly staff

Noticeably coarse linen on the bed & not high quality bedding
Room has ceiling painted black & in corridors . This made the room feel smaller & a bit oppressive.
Loo paper not overly soft

Riverside location with sensational view

Overlooking the Loire River, the hotel is perfectly located for a stay in Saumur. The city centre was literally over the river bridge; there was a river walk next to the hotel and local restaurants aplenty. Our room had a wonderful river view looking up to the impressive floodlit chateau on the opposite bank. The room was well equipped, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The private car park for which we paid a supplement was very close by; the breakfast buffet was superb; staff were attentive and friendly and our two night stay enabled us to tour other areas of the Loire from our Saumur base.

Excellent three-night stay.

We had a beautiful and spacious Privilege room with a large terrace and an unbeatable view of the Loire and the Château de Saumur. Very quiet neighborhood with the banks of the Loire just a 2-minute walk away and the modern and historic city center a 15-minute walk from the Mercure Bords de Loire Hotel. Modern hotel, impeccable cleanliness with a bar along the Loire. Welcoming and professional staff.
Thank you to the entire team at the hotel.
We will return during our next getaway.

Very nice view and easy access on foot to the city center by the bridge.

Very good reception with attentive staff, PMR access through a dedicated door at the parking level and then elevator.
A small resumption of the masonry of the threshold would be welcome.
No restaurant, but if you don't want to go out for dinner in town, room service is available and the jar-type ready meals are excellent and at a very decent price.
Breakfast exemplary and memory among the best I have known in 4*, croissants are excellent.
The terrace is exceptional for the views of the castle and the old Saumur.
PMR room with Loire view very well with very accessible bathroom.

Beautiful hotel

One of the best Mercure hotels we have stayed in. The lounge area is very stylish and comfortable and there is a beautiful terrace right on the river. Our standard room had a river view and was very spacious and comfortable . Breakfast was superb, staff were very helpful and there is a free, private car park just behind the hotel.
