Perfect riverside place to stop on our trip from Brest to Bordeaux

Perfect place to stop on our trip from Brest to Bordeaux. Beautifully situated Logis un the bank of the River Vendee, - the main hotel and restaurant in an old building by the 18th century road bridge, and the annexe rooms along the old towpath. Very quiet except for waterfowl and frogs!
Rooms compact but comfortable , with terrace along the river. Restaurant excellent - serious gourmet food beautifully presented a good selection of dishes., and suitably indulgent deserts. Interesting wines too.

Excellent stopover

We were recommended this hotel as a stopover on our drive to the Dordogne and it was excellent, the location, service etc. we Uber that it was in the village and planned to look around and have food but then found out it was 12 km away so opted for dinner in the restaurant. Don’t get me wrong, the food was good, but I think it lacked something. The muse bouche was interesting but needed more seasoning as it was quite bland. My partner had the snails and although tasty they were rather small. The fillet was nice, but there was very little difference between my medium to his blue steak, which meant I struggled to eat mine. It would have been nice to see a few more options on the al a crate menu, but being small I suppose that isn’t possible. The accommodation was good for the price, though quite cold so we asked if there was any heating. Other than that it was a lovely stay.

A little disappointing.

The quality of this establishment has declined The rooms are not air conditioned and neither is the restaurant room, with the heat of this summer this would be a minimum. The menu is rather poor and does not correspond to the summer menus, here we were served a hot kir and dessert was no longer presentable...
