The environment was beautiful. Good for families. The staff I came in contact with were very helpful and nice to chat with. Good food and the room was clean.

Beautiful Grounds Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, a View Both Majestic and Solemn!

Our travel group of 35 people stayed 2 nights at the Coconut Grove Beach Resort in Elmina during our cultural expedition of Ghana in June 2026. The size of our group didn’t slow the staff down at all. We arrived late in the evening while it was raining. The staff sprang into action. They helped to unload our luggage from the bus, provided room assignments then assisted with delivering the luggage to our rooms. We were impressed by the efficiency of their service. The rooms were both spacious and very clean, making our stay comfortable. The shower was in a separate room from the toilet and sink however this was not an issue for us. We did have some initial challenges in connecting to the internet however the staff assisted us with that. The TV had limited stations but again, not an issue.
The next morning revealed the full beauty of the grounds. The sight of the Atlantic waves was energizing, yet sobering, as we reflected on the ancestors who were taken across those waters—so many never making it to the new world. Some workers were gathering coconuts from the trees, while others were casting nets into the ocean. When we asked what they were doing, they explained that they were catching fish for the meals on the menu. It gave a whole new meaning to enjoying “fresh fish” with our meal. The dishes were good and flavorful, with several options available. We had a view of the ocean with each meal.
We did tour the Elmina Castle and other nearby sights. Due to our short stay, we did not get to fully appreciate all that the Coconut Grove Beach Resort had to offer. Despite this, we can recommend this property as a place to stay if you are in this area of the Cape Coast.

The environment was nice but the particular room(family suite) that I stayed in was not properly cleaned. There was rat poop, the bathroom dirty.
The on-boarding was poor. No one told me where to find anything, not even where you’ll have breakfast! Customer service was very poor.
The distance from Accra to the resort was more than 5hrs probably due to road construction.
Though breakfast was nice and the pool was nice.

Great location and potential. Past its date and in need for major update. Water supply can be an issue
