Excellent suites an perfect people
Excellent suites with a very beautiful view! Functional clean and modern. Excellent breakfast sweet staff and amazing owners Maria and Michael!! I wish I could come back!

Great stay and exprience
It was a great experience. The hotel is perfect, the suites are very comfortable with tasteful and charming décor. There is everything we need to have a great stay. The beds are just perfect.
Location is ideal, very close to the center of Chora and the restaurants. The views from the rooms are wonderful, the harbor, the sea and the whole Chora city (small one) are in front of us.
Special mention for our host, Maria. So welcoming, so kind and she supported us for our activities (eg a wonderful boat cruise). Many thanks to you. Another special mention for her crew. The cooker prepared marvelous breakfasts with typical greek meals. It was more than delicious, the breakfasts were a lovely moment every morning, The woman in charge of cleaning was very attentive and everything was perfect, right down to the little details that make all the difference.

You won't find better on Astypalea!
We stayed 5 nights at Grande Mar Suites and can be short: this is by far the best stay on all of Astypalea. Period.The location is really perfect. From the suites you look straight out over the Aegean Sea, with those iconic islands in the distance and the most beautiful sunrises you can imagine. Every morning we woke up to this breathtaking view. Also the location relative to Chora 5 min walk, yet wonderfully quiet and private. The suite itself is very spacious, tastefully decorated and fully equipped. And then breakfast... really great! A party every morning. In addition to the regular classics (fresh rolls, croissants, yogurt, etc.), there were daily changing hot dishes and surprises. The omelettes were perfect, the salads fresh and flavorful and the freshly squeezed fruit juices were really fresh – not packets, but pure juice. You notice that they work here with a lot of love and attention. In short: if you are looking for the very best on Astypalea, then look no further. Grande Mar Suites is an absolute must and we would come back here again. Thank you so much for these wonderful 5 nights!

Perfect escape with stunning views
We had an incredible stay at Grande Mar Suites in Astypalaia. The location is fantastic. It is just a two minute walk from Chora with lots of great restaurants and shops, yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful. Our suite had a breathtaking view over Chora, the windmills, the Venetian castle, the harbour and the sea. The terrace was huge with our own private outdoor pool which felt like such a luxury.
Maria, the owner, was amazing throughout our stay. She really made sure we were looked after and even let us stay longer on the day we left so we could shower and get changed after the beach. This was such a thoughtful gesture.
Her husband also runs boat tours, including private trips. We booked one to explore nearby islands and beaches that you cannot reach by foot or car. The Red Rocks were definitely one of our absolute highlights. We went snorkelling through caves, were the only ones there and saw plenty of fish. It was a truly unforgettable experience.
Breakfast was another highlight. You choose your options the day before from a big list with loads of local delicacies like tiropita, homemade cakes, Greek yoghurt and several egg dishes. Every morning felt like a treat.
Honestly, the photos online do not show how stunning this place really is. We travel to the Greek islands every summer and this was definitely one of our top experiences. We will absolutely come back next time we visit Astypalaia.

Thanks to Mike and Maria and all their excellent staff for the warm hospitality! The suite is wonderful, breakfast based on fresh produce and impeccable service! We also booked a boat trip and it was a lovely day. See you soon!
