Amazing location in Athens, for what seemed like an affordable price. Live music plays at the restaurant below the hotel until 11:30/45pm, which could be bothersome if you’re sleeping early, but in Athens staying up late seems is more typical, and music is very beautiful. There is no concierge at the hotel, so check in is done contactless, but the staff were available via Whatsapp for any questions. Would certainly book again!

All reception staff was moved from this hotel and the reception is now unmanned (only maintenance staff during the day, not at morning/evening/night). No elevator, the steep stairs for two floors, that was tiring when you come back at the evening even without luggage. The room itself is very modern and clean. For check-in, you need to call /write WhatsApp message to the staff in nearby sister hotel, Play Theatrou. To get the breakfast voucher, you need to walk to Play Theatrou each morning.
On our second night, there was the power outage in the entire block of the hotel, and the hotel service staff could do nothing to fix it as it was the municipal infrastructure. Thanks to the hotel administration and staff, we were asked (after midnight) to go to the nearby sister hotel, Play Theatrou, and got a room there. At the morning we asked to remain in Play Theatrou for our remaining nights (as the power fixing time was not known yet) and they accepted. Many thanks for that.
The Play Theatrou (the hotel we moved to) staff was great, very friendly and helpful. The hotel also had the elevator, while the room itself is smaller, less equipped and pretty outdated, comparing to room in Play Psyri.

I've not been to a hotel before that has no physical staff, when you arrive there is a small notice on the door with a phone number to call to confirm your reservation. They forward a Pin code for the front door and your room, seemed to work OK though.

Why wasn't there a receptionist?

The room was clean and spacious. I stayed over the weekend and the hotel is on a street with a lot of night life. There was music until late hours that you could watch from the balcony. I was happy with my stay in the room.
However, there are a lot of stairs and no elevator, so something to be aware of.
Also, there was no receptionist when I got there and had to text a number to receive a code to enter the building. During my entire stay (2 nights), I never saw anyone at the reception desk. This was not communicated ahead of time, nor was the way to check in.

If you're somebody who needs the hotel to be super responsive, this isn't the place for you. I personally didn't mind, but it does take them some time to get back to you.
My check in and check out was super easy. The location is also incredibly convenient to all the major areas in Athens.
Because you're close to a lot of restaurants and bars, if you're someone who doesn't like noise, this also isn't the hotel for you. Again, I personally wasn't bothered, but someone may find the place way too noisy.
