Nice, clean apartment room with very nice hosts

We felt completely comfortable. The rooms are very well maintained and clean. The hosts very friendly and accommodating. Great recommendation.

Large apartment

Recently back from 10 nights in these apartments. You get bedroom and kitchen/living room and a large balcony. Luxurious for Paleochora! Plenty of room and a good view of the church and castle. We were on the ground floor.
Not very good for cooking though. Small cooker that took ages to heat up, and one large wonky frying pan and small saucepans. Did have a kettle though.
Very clean. In fact the lady came every day to clean, usually when we wanted to have our lunch! Communication only by phone, to a male voice, as the lady does not speak a word of English. Paying our bill took 30mins and 3 phone calls!
Position was fantastic. Easy access to both sides, down alleys of the old town. Just steps from the main street, easy walk from bus station.
Also, expect to phone on arrival as no one will be there.

Very nice apartments

The apartments building is located on a side street behind the town church. Though it’s almost the center of the town, the apartment was very quiet after 23:30-0:00. We slept with open windows. Our double room on the second floor was large, light with internet and air conditioning included. Huge open terrace was also applied. The hostess - Kristina is very benevolent and helpful. Room service was performed every day with towel changing once in two days. We may highly recommend this apartment. There are only two downsides: absence of a safe box and some issues with parking places. But parking in the center is a general Palaiochora trouble. I recommend to find a parking place on a coast road as close to the apartment as possible.

The worst reception we have ever experienced in forty years of travel

We arrived in a 40+ degrees heatwave. There was no-one there to meet us as arranged so I sat down outside while my wife went to a local bar we knew and they contacted the woman who manages the property who said she would arrive in a few minutes. When she did arrive she immediately began to shout at us, first for not being at the bar, where, presumably because she had not listened, she had been to find us, and after that she shouted about us sitting outside somone elses apartment.
We didn't know it was somone elses apartment, we thought it was ours, and we had to sit somewhere, it was a heatwave and we are both in our late sixties.
The shouting continued for about twenty minutes during which time I asked her quietly to stop shouting to which she shouted back that it was us were were shouting which was ridiculous and completely untrue.
She eventually left leaving us sitting stunned in the apartment at which point we realised that she had not left any controls for the air con and the place was sweltering in the current heatwave.
Unable to face dealing with the woman again we left and managed to find somewhere else to stay.
In later discussions with the owner he insisted that the woman manager had left the aircon controls and explained them to us "but we had not understood". Either, one,or probably both of them, are demonstrably inveterate liars.
We have travelled all over Greece, to the most remote of locations on the mainland and on the islands but I have never experienced like this. I can only assume that the heatwave caused the woman, who was very large, to completely lose control and it was one of the most unpleasant ordeals we endured in all our travels.

Great position. Spotless. Good kitchen. Comfortable beds

Loved our stay in paleochora. Lovely home with good clean rooms. Loads of good places to eat nearby. Some nice beaches you can cycle to with a good cafe and sun beds. Very close to bus stop and ferry to loutrou Would recommend breakfast at the buffet place not far from bus station. Few extras helped e.g washing up liquid etc Quiet at night although close to the buzz . Would definitely recommend and would love to go back soon
