Apartment 1

We have stayed in apt 1 and have re booked this apartment for 2 weeks next year.
As the previous person stated the bathroom and bedroom do not have any Windows however plenty of light enters the bedroom via frosted glass between bedroom and living area.
Regarding the living area... Why would you want the air con on AND have the window open ? The air con is very efficient ...there are also shutters which stop light entering if you don't want it....when open these allow full light .
Something we love is the patio area , table and chairs - it has good lighting so even late at night we often sat reading.
Just love this compact apartment ....and look forward to staying there next year.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! STAY AWAY FOR YOUR OWN GOOD AND HEALTH!

Rented apartment #2 for two months. Terrible experience with dishonest landlord who would not return our deposit money. Online pictures are not accurate representation. Everything is outdated and non-functional. Building right in front is blocking sea view. Constant black mold on walls and in shower made us feel sick and unable to sleep. Landlord painted over black mold only for it to return soon after. Constant construction noise and drilling in their other apartments. TV only Greek language. After addressing the problems with the landlord she made us feel like we are the problem and kept our deposit money claiming that we didn't keep the longterm rental agreement.

disappointing

Allocated apartment 1 which was on the ground floor. No windows in the bedroom, bathroom and has one window in the lounge/ kitchen which had to be closed to allow the air conditioning to work. We felt very closed in. The other apartments especially on the top floors appear to have more light and are airy. Near the sea and short walk to main beach and shops. Supermarket opposite. It was ok for a base but stifling at night although the air conditioning was on at night we woke up with sore throats. Ideally might be better if you go for upper floors but beware there is a steep slope!

Markakis apartments Elounda

My sister and I stayed at these apartments for two weeks. I would thoroughly recommend them. The family who own them are incredibly hospitable. Nothing is too much trouble. We were invited to join them on several occasions for Greek coffee and cakes.
On the day after our night arrival Michaelis made us coffee and spent an hour answering all our questions and advising us where to go.
The apartments are really clean with new towels and bed linen every couple of days. They are in a great location, Just a few minutes walk to sea front, the square and a supermarket.
We had a night flight and were able to store our luggage and have a shower at no extra charge and were even left a little gift by Rena. Incredible. I would thoroughly recommend these apartments and would definitely use them again.

Two month stay

I have previously reviewed the Markakis Apartment 9, 2 bedroom sea front apartment.
Nothing has changed STILL love this place, only this time we took advantage of the catering facilities we were able to cook for 5 people easily, we cooked food and popped it in the freezer.
This long stay wAs home from home...the Markakis family are greAt hosts.
You won't go far wrong to stay at ANY of the apartments
