Vardes karpathos "authentic"

Simple structure where the difference is made by Minas and his family .. if you want a truly "Greek" experience try it. Minas focuses on simplicity but clean structure and with excellent value for money, no fronzolo.a starting from the access road still dirt. Breakfast little varied but freshly prepared by the famiglia..non central but close to everything

A relaxing Greek corner

We stayed here for two weeks. Ammopi is an expanding tourist area close to some of the most beautiful bays on the island. A lot (perhaps too much) is being built, moving away from the typical Greek style. The Vardes set in an olive grove is an exception, family run with much more spacious studios than usual, bathrooms with windows and a very comfortable shower corner! The furnishings are simple and essential, it offers overnight accommodation with a varied and abundant breakfast served at the table by Maria who manages everything with her husband Minas. The price/quality/quantity ratio is decidedly good. If we were to return to Karpathos...we know where to go!

Unforgettable stay in Karpathos

Lovely family run hotel. We spent a week at the Vardes in a large studio apartment. The rooms were very clean, they have strong wi-fi ,television and air conditioner. The family were very kind, helpful and informative of the local beaches in the area.
There were no traffic noises at all.
It is in walking distance (about 10 minutes) to a sand beach and a pebble beach.
The highlight is that Wonderful rotating breakfast that Maria and Minas prepare each morning. Their home-made cheese and honey are very delicious, as is the rest of the various dishes excellent local fresh yogurt for breakfast and eggs cooked in different ways.
The family were very kind, helpful of the local beaches and restaurants in the area.
At our departure we were given some oregano and sea salt as a gift.

Quiet spot; great breakfast.

Vardes Hotel is a 12-minute drive, or 20-25-minute bus ride from the main town in Karpathos. It is walking distance to a sand beach and a pebble beach. It is at the end of its own gravel road, ensuing that there is no traffic noise whatsoever. The high point of our stay was the rotating breakfast goodies that Maria and Minas provide each morning. Their home-made cheese and honey are delicious, as is the rest of the various dishes (we had omelette on day 1, fried eggs on day 2, cheese pie on day 3). We were also served yogurt or rice pudding, fruit, or pound cake, and the usual crust bread, butter and jam.

Set back from the road amongst the olive groves

We spent 4 nights at the Vardes in a large studio apartment. Fabulous local fresh yoghurt and honey for breakfast and eggs cooked in different ways. The family were very kind, helpful and informative of the local beaches in the area. On our departure we were given some oregano and sea salt as a gift. Thank you very much!
