Great location with a traditional Greek feel, its a lovely hotel with great staff.
Had a great stay here last week of June 2026. Perfectly positioned hotel with all the ameanities you could ever need on holiday. Stayed on the 3rd floor with a balcony overlooking the sea, a lovely big room with bath and shower, plenty hot water, towel change everyday and good wifi. Aircon and Tv remote are chrgable and there is the dreaded tourist tax on arrival.
Big shout out to all the hard working staff from Maria and the gang at the food hall to the cleaners who look after you very well each day. There were folk here that have been coming for 30yrs!!
Great location being only a 7min stroll to the strip were you will find lots of pubs and restaraunts. There are two good pool bars whichever way you turn when leaving the hotel - turn right it will bring you to Paradise pool bar - turn left it will bring you to Whispers pool bar. All beds are free and drinks/food is very cheap in both bars.
The hotel has an attached supermarket where prices are very keen for your essentials. There is also a lovely ice cream parlour situated right next to the peer. Food in the hotel is also very good and there are regular specials to suit everyones taste.
Easy come and go hotel with a very friendly traditional Greek feeling. There is a lift to every floor and a 24hr reception. Money exchange is best gained from the big supermarket on the high street.
Lovely walks from Alykes to Alikanas along the river with plenty of pit stops on the way! We will return :-)

A little gem in Alykes!
Beautiful hotel, beautiful location, beautiful family. Our only issue is that didn’t stay longer!
We travelled with our two daughters aged 16. I take a very long time choosing our holidays and generally go by trip advisor reviews purely for the honesty.
Upon arrival, a little later than expected, we were met and greeted like vips! We were offered a table next to the little private beach and enjoyed some lovely food and drinks…very reasonably priced!
The hotel itself, although a little dated, was kept spotlessly clean and had fresh towels every day. The bathrooms were very modern with decent shower pressure! Nice balcony, safe, fridge and kettle! Air con is an extra- 10 euros a night but so worth it! Breakfast was also fairly basic but freshly cooked and plenty of selection. The service however is of the highest standard. We also had dinner a couple of nights at the hotel as so lovely overlooking the beach and it was 5 star with fantastic waiters who really spent the time to get to know you. Nothing was too much bother. Location couldnt have been better, little mini market shop virtually next door, views to the front of the mountains and literally a 2 min walk to the lovely strip of tavernas shops bars and restaurants. Clean friendly and safe. We took a fabulous boat trip and saw two swimming turtles! Definitely found a little gem in Alykes and will be returning!

Lovely staff but hotel is a little dated
Two female friends travellers aged 51 and 62. This is what we found and our completely honest review of the hotel.
The staff were really friendly and helpful, especially Nikki. The proximity to the beach, you couldn’t get better and the views from the restaurant terrace are super gorgeous. The terrace is the perfect spot to finish the day with a drink watching the light fade over the sea looking out to Kefalonia. Our beds were comfy and the room was cleaned every day. The food for breakfast was ok - we just had the Greek yoghurt which was really good, but there’s not a bad choice of bread eggs and other hot foods. The food from the restaurant was lovely in the evening and I had no complaints about that at all.
The WiFi was poor, we couldn’t get any real connection and the hotel and especially the rooms need updating. The room we stayed in only really had one plug socket we could use which was on the opposite wall to the beds ( the other socket had the fridge plugged in) and the tv has zero English speaking channels ( not even BBC world news). The fridge in our room was really old and tatty, and definitely needs replacing and the shower could do with a good de scale. The balcony has a really nice drying rack and I’m sure the sea view rooms have an amazing view, we had a land view sadly. The hotel charges for air con (10 euros a day) which seemed reasonable.
The hotel charges the guests for the sun beds on the beach in front of the hotel which we found strange, we have never stayed anywhere where the hotel asks their guests to pay for their beds. It’s a short walk up the beach to much nicer beds and service to your bed so worth the walk, they are only a few euros more and much nicer.
I would probably pay more to stay somewhere a little more modern to be honest but if you don’t mind an older style hotel that has clean rooms that are dated, with friendly staff and with great sea views then this might be for you. For us, this was a cheap week away (£700 each for a twin room/B&B and flights and transfers and it was ok for a week but would pay more next time for a little higher standard of room.

Just returned from a wonderful week at Astoria. Location is perfect right on the beech front. The hotel was very clean and staff were very friendly. The atmosphere in the hotel is relaxed and comfortable. We had a double room but should have been a twin but no complaints. Very quiet and peaceful at night and generally slept well. Room had had some upgrading and we had a walk in shower. Some areas are looking a bit dated but all in working order. Towels were very tired and ideally need new ones. This is the only negative that needs mentioning.
We only wanted a relaxing break and so this was good value for money.
Rooms had air con at 10 Euros per day and this was money well spent as so hot. Safe was in the room which she gave us free due to the mix up of the double not twin room.
All of the staff were very friendly and helpful and could not fault any of them. Food in the evening was very good and well priced as compared to local restaurant. Our room overlooked the side of the hotel so we had a partial sea view but also had the salt flats to our left. Small mini market at the hotel was very handy.
This area is a small and quiet are of the island but there were water sports nearby if needed.
Charge for sunbeds 10 Euros, but i think this should be free if staying at the hotel, although i do understanding charging for non guests.

My family have been to this hotel a few times over past 5 years. The staff and owners absolutely amazing can not do enough for you! Highly recommend!
