Beautiful hotel and bed
A well located hotel , furnished very well , sea facing rooms are the best for a view of the ocean , beds are big and comfortable, breakfast excellent,

How does the Albergo Gelsomino in Kos differ from other hotels, based on our experience?
You have already seen the pictures from the other reviews; they correspond to the tasteful reality of the hotel.
The hotel is, by the way, within walking distance along the promenade, about 10 minutes away from the ferry port (Patmos). The beauty of the architecture and the strategic location of the hotel are worth highlighting.
The difference of this extraordinary five-star hotel, consisting of only a few rooms, with the charm of a bygone era,
lies, in our opinion:
Not only in the solid, fashionable rooms (beds, wallpapers, cabinets, sofas, armchairs, wooden floors, bathrobes, etc.), with either narrow, brick balconies that cling to the wall like swallow nests, and/or the wooden sash windows. It is wonderful to stand in a thunderstorm and rain and look at the sea (side balcony view from room No. 204) and the promenade.
Not only at the noteworthy restaurant with a dream view of the movie-like beach, dotted with black-and-white, lush loungers and umbrellas, including the sunset.
Not only at the harmonious, volume-adjusted live music that frames the first-class dinner.
But also about this:
HOW the staff behaves and conducts themselves towards their guests.
For example:
How, like the memory of the employees.
Albergo Gelsomino was the only hotel on our "silver wedding trip" (noted at the time of booking) that remembered the date! A very successful surprise of congratulations with loving lines, a fruit platter, and sparkling wine in the room, even though we had at least an hour of flight delay.
How, like the attentiveness of the staff,
through inquiries via email before arrival at the hotel, organization of the in-house taxi transfer from the airport (for a fee), or by re-checking the arrival details, etc.
How, like the attentiveness of the service staff in the restaurant,
I already mentioned our dinner. However, I had not experienced being asked by a very attentive, unusually friendly service staff member (wearing black glasses) whether the food intolerance referred to an allergy or intolerance in another restaurant. The chosen dishes were therefore discussed, and the possibility of variation existed, incredible! The dinner not only exceeded all expectations, but I also tolerated it wonderfully.
How, like accommodating, approachable, sensitive, and proactive,
that a front team immediately understood our "basic" English and implemented the wishes exactly. Or the question, tactfully posed by the team, can we... take care of that for you, e.g., reordering a taxi, making a lunch reservation, etc.
How, like the courtesy of the staff,
the getting up to fetch the elevator, taking the luggage, accompanying to the table, the coffee in the morning is still brought to the table in a porcelain pot with a warm smile.
Old-fashioned? No, definitely not; these qualities are missing from our lives.
That we were able to experience these (again) at the Albergo Gelsomino will always remain unforgettable for us. Many heartfelt thanks to all the staff of the house.

Perfect menu for breakfast, excellent service.
Beautiful reception areas, bar and restaurant with excellent sea views.

Anniversary trip
We celebrated our anniversary with a dream stay and dinner at Albergo Gelsomino! The best choice in Kos! Perfect location for walking tours in the city (and guaranteed parking for the rental car), historic landmark building with only 8 suites (carrows and beautiful with all amenities) and excellent service from the courteous staff, luxury, view, beach in front of the hotel with elegant loungers-layers, amazing cocktails... It's impossible to stop describing!
Breakfast is a la carte, with plenty of taste and quality options and the restaurant is awarded with true gourmet cuisine (loved executive chef Gikas Xenakis).
For the anniversary we were offered a bottle of prosecco in the room along with a romantic note and the evenings at the turndown service left chocolate Leonidas and poems...
