Very beautiful hotel with good location. View of the rooms and pool to the sea is great.
Very hospital staff and place for a great holiday.

Mediocre and remote
The first room we got was small and stank of mold, even though we booked studio apartment superior, newly renovated. After complaints, however, we had to change the same night. The new room was much better. The service level varies a lot between the staff, the one who made our toast in the bar was very nice while the elderly lady reception (Dora I think her name) was disengaged and lacked a complete sense of service. Felt like they were a little understaffed. Cleaning and changing towels every 3 days felt too infrequent. Pool towels were not available either so we had to buy that. The hotel has nice views but you need transport to get anywhere. No place we will go back to or would recommend.

Disappointing stay and dangerous experience — Failed on all levels
I stayed at Kastro Maistro, Lefkada from 28/7 until 3/8/2025. The experience was even worse than we expected — and it is a shame.
Conditions & Hygiene:
Rooms and common spaces were almost messy — cleanliness contrary to elementary hospitality limits.
Visitor Security:
I suffered two damage to my car inside the completely uncontrolled “private” parking lot. There is no elementary measure of protection or supervision.
Serious Injury:
I was hit in the head by a sharp sign at low altitude. It could have been much more serious — without any marking or warning.
Tax issues:
I paid 502€ in cash and 200€ in advance through the bank, without receipt being issued — neither for accommodation, nor even for the “stay tax” (2€/night).
Indifferent staff behavior:
No intention of addressing, improving or compensating — professional indifference in every question/complaint.
Actions:
I have already filed full complaints with the Financial Police (tax breach) and the EOT (according to tourist specifications & safety), with full documentation and photos.
Conclusion:
This was the worst tourist experience I had in Greece. I would not recommend this property to my worst enemy.

I would not recommend it
The hotel is in a beautiful location, but unfortunately gives an image of abandonment.. very dirty rooms, and with drainage that smells so bad that you can't open the bathroom door. The room is full of moisture, to the point that anything dry we left inside the room was wet until the morning. The breakfast is also miserable. All poor-quality food and bayas. I do not recommend this place with anything

Does the job, needs update
We went to Kastro Maistro in July 2025 as a family. We had booked a deluxe studio, it is another part of the main building, down the road. From what I understood, the rooms in that part of the hotel are newer.
The deluxe studio is not very big and spacious but if you want to spend your days at the beach instead of in the room, it’s not a big deal. There is no dining table in the studio so if you decide to have a meal in the room you will need to do it on the balcony.
The rooms do need some update especially in terms of toilet fixtures. The water pressure can get a bit tricky in the evening and for me personally this was not a deal-breaker, but when you have two small kids, it can be a bit frustrating.
The staff is very kind and helpful. We asked for another set of towels and batteries for the remote and they delivered immediately. In the first few days it seemed as if they have some issues with the room cleaning services, but when we talked to them, they also settled that.
The breakfast is regular continental buffet, but they offer they same meals every day, so it does get boring when you are there for ten days.
Air conditioning worked seamlessly, which is very important.
The pool is not very big, but it is very clean and the water is very warm.
The hotel is perched on a hill and it offers great views from the pool and restaurant, it has a lot of greenery and the atmosphere is very pleasant.
However, they do need to work on updating the hotel and facilities as a whole should they want to continue receiving good reviews.
I would definitely recommend it to people who are not too picky.
