Small village experience

My spouse and I stayed for one night. This small hotel is in the middle of a tiny village was a good value. The owner was very friendly and helped us with our strategy to see the local ancient sites. The room was spacious, comfortable, clean, and quiet. The breakfast was composed of many regional specialities, more sweet ones than savory ones, but all flavorful and the most locally authentic we had in all of Greece.

Excellent guest house

A lovely little guest house with a very welcoming owner. We had a lovely view from our balcony of the ruins of ancient Messini, which are fabulous. We had an evening meal in the taverna in town (the only one) which was also good and they spoke English, not a given in this quite isolated place. Excellent local beer.
Breakfast was extensive if a little European- garlic and pork roll etc , but also yoghurt and fruit, and delicious orange cake. Great hotel and well worth the detour to visit the ruined Greek city.

Small, rustic hotel in an excellent location

The hotel is located on the road directly above the archaeological sites of Messene and is therefore ideal for visiting. There is also a restaurant in the village. The hotel is privately run and Maria is very nice and helpful, and likes to give tips on what can be visited beyond Messene. The rooms are very clean and the bathrooms are very comfortable. The rich breakfast with regional products is served in the lounge on the ground floor, allowing you to talk to other guests in B&B atmosphere.

Perfect Choice

Unimpressive from the exterior, the interior is charming, up to date and comfortable. The Great Room has the feel of a rustic inn, the rooms have modern fittings and convenient outlets for your devices. The real charm is the accommodating hostess, who is welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Nice collection of coffee table books. Simple buffet breakfast with tasty pastries and house made jams. Walking distance to the Ithomi Taverna, nice view over the archeological site from our room. Parking on the main road is safe and easy enough. Pro tip: this was our fourth visit to Messene, but first overnight. Considering how tired you can get from walking around the site, staying over made for a very relaxed visit. This is the place for that.

Great central place to visit the surroundings

Rustic but very well restored hotel in this small village of Mavromati near various interesting sites, such as the archaeological site of the Ancient Messini and the Abbey of Andromonastiro. Hotel with every comfort, friendly welcome with distribution of a flyer to see the surrounding sites, room with rustic balcony and renovated with taste. Breakfast inside or on the terrace. Everything to spend a few nice days in the area.
