The resort was clean, well presented and well maintained.
The staff were friendly and extremely helpful.
The rooms were spacious and clean, although the door lock took some getting used to.
Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choices from fruit, cereal and yoghurt to baked items and hot food including bacon and eggs.
The only slight downside was the location which was a bit of a hike to the port town. There is a walking path that is well sign posted, beware using Google Maps as it will want to take the long way even when set for walking. We found Apple Maps found the best walking path to the port town.

The property is close to the port, well maintained, has a pool and the staff were wonderful. Easy to park your car if you have one.

Santa Maria village
The room was fairly nice, but there were several disappointing aspects of our stay. The tap water was not safe to drink, yet no complimentary bottled water was provided. The hot tub was not heated, and the pool had many restrictions, including no footballs and no large splashes. Even the nearby green space could not be used for games. The breakfast was good and was one of the better parts of the experience.

Regarding the restrictions you mentioned, they are in place to ensure the comfort and safety of all guests. For example, throwing a football from a balcony into the swimming pool for someone to dive and catch may certainly sound entertaining, but unfortunately it is neither safe for those involved nor for other guests using the pool area. For the same reason, diving is not permitted.
Similarly, the grass area next to the rooms is not intended to be used as a football field, as guests relaxing in their rooms or around the pool generally appreciate not having footballs flying past their windows.
As for the tap water, this is not unique to our resort. On most Greek islands, tap water is not recommended for drinking due to local infrastructure and water quality characteristics.
We appreciate your feedback and hope future travels bring you a destination with fewer safety rules and more suitable facilities for football tournaments.

This hotel was beautiful! Walking distance to port maybe a 10 minute walk. Breakfast buffet is delicious. Front desk staff makes you feel so welcomed, we were greeted by George and he was awesome. Bar and pool area were so clean and staff was great!

Lovely well run attractive small hotel.
There is a sizable pool and terrace with lounge chairs and bar all with a view of Madamas harbor. The rooms have a calming neutral-tone vibe and have a mini fridge.
The beach across the street is narrow and cars whiz by. The water is very clean. There are other beaches with much more allure but perhaps not across the street from a hotel.
Breakfast is very good (8am to 11am) with a terraced seating area.
Staff all eager to please and good at their jobs.
Special mention to Georgia, Aris, Zoe and Panos.
Ask for any room except 121 as it is right next to the laundry, shed and living quarters for a family that works there (with young kids). Not necessarily unpleasant but lots of activity. Fantastic view of water, though.
And thank you for quickly getting our passports from the safe to hand off to our great driver Vasilis.
