Fantastic, sweet hotel less than 5 minutes from the main town and beach!

The location of the hotel is really convenient, less than 5 minutes to the main shopping chora and 100m to a wonderful clean beach. The hotel itself was lovely with clean rooms, really friendly hard working receptionists (Mr George and Moss Popi) and amazing breakfast/cleaning ladies (Emmanuela and Irma) that went out of their way to make you feel as comfortable as possible.Nothing was too big for them and their kindness was truly heartwarming. We stayed there 2 weeks and we would gladly stay there again! Thank you so very much for everything you did for us, we would not forget you and we will see our again soon!! Andreas, Vickie, Angelos

Just Beware

We stayed in this hotel for one night in mid-May whilst travelling through the Cyclades. The hotel is located in a nondescript side street toward the edges of Naxos Town. It can be easily reached by taxi but is also a 20 to 25 minute walk from the port with luggage. The exterior of the hotel is unprepossessing. It has 30 rooms over three storeys and we believe would accommodate guests with mobility issues,-but, the surrounding area is hilly and pavements are narrow. What this hotel is not is “Boutique”. It is our understanding that for a hotel to be described as “Boutique” in Greece it requires certain facilities – these were not offered to us. Indeed, the hotel was barely passable at 3 stars.
There is a generous reception area with soft seating, well decorated but functional. It lets onto a large breakfast room which also houses the bar. All areas were clean and tidy. The breakfast room/bar/general seating area is supplemented by an outside terrace abutting the local roads. There is a swimming pool. We had booked a Superior Room but on arrival felt the need to check that the room was indeed a Superior. We were told it was. We have a suspicion that because we were staying for a single night there was no great concern on behalf of the hotel management as to how we were accommodated.
The room (124) was small – adequate for one night - with a small, grubby sofa/bed (which probably made it Superior) and small balcony overlooking the street. However it was tatty. It was unloved – and badly in need of upkeep. There was no fan in the bathroom, there were no fire detectors in the room, there was no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, there was no Evacuation Plan displayed in the room, the shower cubicle door was hanging off its bottom guides, the furniture was scarred and chipped, the floor was uneven with some boards curling and the skirtings defied reasonable description, one light fitting was missing a bulb, curtains were hanging off the rail. Toiletries in the bathroom were excellent but towels and the bedlinen only OK.
There was very little noise within the hotel but traffic noise was audible – particularly motorbikes. Wifi was OK and aircon was effective.
External to the room and safeguarding the corridor from the staircase a timber balustrade – mentioned by previous reviewers some time ago – was still loose.
We had no interaction with housekeeping but public areas were clean and tidy and the room wasn’t dirty but did not feel pleasant.
We only took breakfast, it was a buffet and quite adequate. The hotel does take organised groups, this meant that at the first opportunity for us to take breakfast the breakfast room was already swamped with members of a group. The organisation of the breakfast room did not help easy access to the buffet tables.
There are plenty of nearby restaurants, there are shops and it is only a short walk to St George’s beach. A walk to the seafront and its attendant restaurants is only 10 minutes.
We had little to do with the staff at the hotel. The check-in receptionist was dismissive, the check-out receptionist was helpful. The staff in the restaurant were efficient albeit distant, but gave no rise to any problem.
We were disappointed in this hotel – it had been recommended to us – and whilst not expensive was comparable in cost with other hotels in Naxos town offering a far better experience. Because of the attitude at check-in we accepted the shortcomings of our room and elected not to complain – not least, because nothing was novel. The state of the room must have been evident for weeks if not months and the lack of maintenance deliberate. We therefore expected no response to any complaint. We would not recommend this hotel.
Other reviewers of this hotel speak of renovated rooms and it may well be that they are much nicer but for any prospective guest there is the imperative to check because the hotel will direct enquiries to those rooms it cannot otherwise sell. This speaks volumes to the attitude of the Aeolis owners.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Stay at Aeolis Boutique Hotel, Naxos

We had a fantastic 3-night stay at the Aeolis Boutique Hotel in Naxos and would 100% stay here again.
On arrival, we were warmly welcomed with drinks and even upgraded to a suite for our first night, which was a lovely surprise and a great start to our stay. The staff throughout were friendly, helpful, and made us feel very well looked after.
The location is perfect, just a 2-minute walk to the main square for restaurants and bars, around 5 minutes to the beautiful Agios Georgios Beach, and very close to the old town, making it easy to explore everything Naxos has to offer.
Our room was clean, modern, and well-equipped with a fridge. The bathroom was fresh and contemporary, and the excellent air conditioning and double-glazed windows ensured a quiet and comfortable night’s sleep. The bed (two singles pushed together) was very comfortable, and housekeeping maintained a high standard throughout our stay.
Breakfast each morning had a good variety of options and set us up well for the day.
We also really enjoyed exploring the local area. Highly recommend dinner at Maro’s Taverna and Nikos Taverna. A boat trip from nearby Agia Anna to Rina Cave and Koufonisia Island was a highlight of our trip.
Overall, a beautiful hotel in a fantastic location with great service, highly recommended for anyone visiting Naxos.

Location great, rooms clean but dated, breakfast good.

We stayed here 4 nights and chose it because of the great location - 2 min walk to the Square for meals, a short walk to a local beach, and 5 min walk to the old city the staff were helpful and friendly. The room had 2 single beds pushed together, and furniture, floors and towels were tired. There was only a sheer curtain (no light blocking. But there was an excellent AC, double glazed windows, and bathroom was fresh clean and modern. Breakfast was good. The good outweighed the bad.

Disappointing.

Location was great but the shower leaked heavily, the pool area was dirty, the buffet breakfast was sub-par and the service staff were either rude or disengaged.
The receptionists rarely looked up from their desk and never said hello or good morning. The kitchen staff never smiled or even acknowledged our presence, took our plates away with half eaten meals when we went for coffee, and seemed more concerned about getting the guests out of the Dining room so they could enjoy their own breakfast.
The last straw was on Check out day when they said we had to be out of our rooms by 10:30 even though the check out time was 11. We were finishing packing at 10;40 and the guy at reception actually called the room and told us we need to vacate immediately. When I pointed out we had until 11, he made some comment about being allowed to check in early when we arrived because the room was ready. To that I say, so what!! That was their choice to let us check in early, not our request. He was rude and ignorant, except when he was playing or talking on his phone.
Overall this hotel is a budget stay at best. Don’t be fooled by the website pics or “boutique” name. This is far from a boutique hotel in terms of North American standards.
