Joyful joylife
Just got back from an amazing 10 day stay at joylife, Sofia was very welcoming and informative about the area, offered us water on arrival and booked us taxis as and when we needed.
Our room was cleaned everyday, and the whole hotel and pool area was spotless, yes it’s outdated but so is every other hotel I have stayed in Greece!!!!!
Some of the reviews are quite laughable, you have everything you need, the bathroom is standard , I don’t understand why people are complaining are you having a party in there I’m not slim and I managed fine, no bed is ever as comfortable as your own, you just get on with it, it’s somewhere to shower and sleep.
Sofia and her husband work very hard all day, so be respectful and enjoy your holiday.
4 stars given just for the location, but everything else was perfect.

Sad to leave
My friend and I stayed at joy life for 10 nights. It was a pleasant relaxing stay.
We arrived late due to transfer delay, tired and thirsty as no water offered on transfer . Sophia kindly gave us both water and free crisps . We were given clear instructions for our room, and local facilities. Sophia always called us a taxi when we asked.
We were room only - the room was bigger than a lot of 5 star hotels I have previously stayed in . It had a fridge and hair dryer . Plenty of space to put our belongings . We paid for air con which it the norm anyway . The rooms were kept clean and tidy by the friendly cleaning ladies.
Breakfast was pre ordered - But we were not always awake early enough and don’t tend to eat breakfast. Snacks available during certain times which were tasty . I asked for food out side the allocated times . As the snacks were no longer available, I was given some crisps which was a lovely surprise . There was no evening meal options - but there are so many nice restaurants to chose from in Sidari, which encouraged us to be more adventurous eating out.
The pool area was cleaned by staff and always had spare sun beds. I loved chilling by the pool on our relaxing days. Other guests were friendly. A couple of times, it was just us two at the pool and I joked it was our own private pool.
There were camera security, for us this gave us extra reassurance for our safety . And Sophia reminded us when we thought we came back at 5am after a night out, which was really 5.20 .
The hotel is in a quiet location , if people want late night parties in their hotel, this isn’t for them . If they want peaceful restful stay, then it is for them.
The only reason that joylife was given 4 out of 5 stars was due to location . There was a 20 minute walk along a windy narrow road which only had a pavement after a 10 minute walk. Did feel a bit scary at times. However, there is a well stocked supermarket 2 minutes was away . Then there are other hotels , cafes and restaurants to stop at when we needed a break. The is another route which leads to canal d’amour, this takes a little longer to walk to. If I could pick joylife up and move it 10 minutes closer to Sidari, it would be a 5 out of 5.
Lastly but most importantly. I have read some poor reviews. I believe in treating people as one would want to be treated and Manners and respect works both ways. Sophia was kind and caring to my friend and I . Thank you BOTH for looking after us and making us feel safe and welcome.

My take on the Joylife
I sometimes wonder if some of the reviews on this hotel relate to the same hotel I am currently staying in and have done annually for the past decade.
The owners -Sofia and Costa are delightful. I personally book direct via a phone call, the hotel arranges for a taxi from the airport, usually a super clean Mercedes or similar. Allow circa €70, it takes 45 mins or so. Well worth the extra to avoid a multi drop bus that can take hours
Over the years I have met with other “Joylifers” who also return year after year.
This is a family run hotel, please remember that the staff and owners who operate hospitality venues work seven days a week 16 hours a day, often in extreme heat !
It’s a 20 minute walk to the main strip, but other fantastic family run tavernas / restaurants are half that distance, the plus point here at the Joylife it’s quiet and you can get an uninterrupted nights sleep!
The hotel is super clean and tidy, it’s not The Ritz, the staff work incredibly hard. But it appears some visitors think that being outright rude and obnoxious to hard working folk is acceptable. From a young age I was personally taught to treat people as you expect to be treated yourself .

Extremely unprofessional, hostile, and malicious behavior
I stayed at this hotel 3 years ago, when the owner initially mistook me for an aggressive, drunk guest, though it was eventually cleared up. However, this year her attitude was cold and unpleasant from the very beginning.
When I politely asked to borrow a screwdriver, she rudely told me to stop bothering her. Later, she overheard me discussing this poor experience with another guest and mentioning that I would leave a negative review. Her reaction was completely unacceptable – she called me aside and threatened to kick me out immediately, claiming she would charge me three times the booking price. She even claimed to have recorded our conversation on video (which would actually only prove my point about her behavior).
Extremely unprofessional, hostile, and malicious behavior towards paying guests. Stay away from this hotel.

most rudest owners i have ever met
from the moment we checked in this hotel we were made to feel u welcome we arrived at midnight to a set of keys and directions for bedroom i feel that at least a bottle of water should of been left given that we were 25 mins from anywhere open so we had to walk not having a clue where we were going i’m the pitch black roads to find somthing to drink we checked in the next day and from the off the owners were the most rudest people i have ever met we literally slept there as we didn’t not feel welcome when out in the town and speaking to people we were told several times that these owners have a reputation for it on leaving we were having to freshen up and change clothes in the toilet as nothing was offered to us on leaving the owners didn’t even say as much as goodbye very awkward and actually couldn’t believe that somebody could be so hard faced
