ANAZING HOTEL great location staff fantastic
We discovered this hotel by accident and have returned 5 years running.
Amazing location for exploring the island.
Great pool, fabulous bar staff can not do enough to make you welcome.
Special mention to Maroula, Yannis, Nancy
Vasilias and Vasilia.
Bus stop right outside so easy to get around.
Koukanaries beach 5 min walk, but so many beaches to choose from.
Breakfast is always fresh and plentiful but not your typical English style.

An Amazing Holiday and Stay at The Hotel Muses
We arrived at The Muses in the evening, after a smooth journey with Jet2. This was our first holiday to Skiathos. We were greeted by Maroulla who quickly checked us in, we paid our tourist tax, and she directed us to our rooms, which were at the top end of the grounds. We had three rooms for our group, one on the ground floor and two on the second (top) floor.
The rooms were a little tired, but traditional and very clean. Our housekeeping lady was very friendly and she cleaned every day. Beds and towels are changed every 3 days (although our towels were changed almost daily). Our room was huge with lots of storage, the comfiest beds and a big balcony with clothes airer. The bathroom was a little tired, but very clean. We had a really nice rain shower and plenty of hot water whenever we needed it.
Breakfast is 8am - 10am, there was tea, coffee, juice, bread, jams, honey, Greek yogurt and boiled eggs everyday. There were also a couple of hot options which changed each morning.
There is a decent size pool, with sunbeds and parasols and extra sunbeds available. The grounds are stunning and very well maintained. There are beautiful plants and fruit trees and it was a joy to walk around. It is also very peaceful, with very little noise, apart from the birds tweeting.
The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from Koukounaries beach, which is beautiful. Each side of the hotel you have a small supermarket that sells everything you might need, plus fresh coffee and baguettes, pastries, cakes etc. There are also plenty of tavernas to choose from for your evening meal, you will not be disappointed, we did not have one bad meal in the 10 days we were there.
The nearest bus stop to the Hotel Muses is bus stop 25, it is about a 20 minute bus ride into town and 3 euros each way. The bus is very frequent, every 5/10 minutes and runs late into the night. There is also a water taxi from Koukounaries beach into Skiathos Town, 7 euros each way.
There is a small bar at the Hotel Muses, serving Mythos, a great selection of wines and cocktails, all very reasonably priced. You can also order light snacks, such as a club sandwich, toastie and Greek Salad. Special thanks and lots of love to Vasilis and Nancy, they were so warm and welcoming, great conversation and recommendations. They really helped to make our holiday special.
And another special thank you to Maroulla, she is welcoming, friendly, funny and very hard working! Thank you for your hospitality - we will see you again next year!

Perfect holiday
Just back from the most perfect holiday in Hotel Muses, Skiathos. Lovely flat location and walking distance to so many beaches and restaurants. Apartment surrounded by beautiful fruit trees which are tended daily by the gardener. Excellent friendly staff even providing umbrellas and beach mats for the beach! Fantastic value for money! Don’t forget the hairdryer if you use one :)

Wonderful Place to Stay
My wife and I have just spent 11 very enjoyable days and nights in June 2026 at the Hotel Muses in the beautiful resort of Koukounaries in Skiathos. If you are going to Skiathos then this hotel and resort make a really nice place to stay. We have travelled to many of the Greek islands over the years and would have to say Skiathos is one of the most beautiful. It has wonderful beaches and if you enjoy walking it has some breathtaking views.
Our room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The room was cleaned daily with bedding changed every three days and towels every couple of days. The room was traditional, well decorated, clean and the shower is one of the best we have come across in Greece. There are extra charges for air conditioning, fridge/freezer and a safe deposit box if you require them. You also have to pay a tourist tax which is applicable to all who visit Greece.
Breakfast (8am - 10am) is included in the price, buffet style / serve yourself. The breakfast room is spacious, clean and tidy with something for everyone. Available is tea, coffee, water, juice, bread (white and brown), pastries, jams, honey, fruit, Greek yogurt, ham, cheese and boiled / fried eggs most days. There were also another couple of hot options which are changed daily.
The grounds and surroundings of the hotel are very picturesque. The hotel also has a nice pool area / bar.
The location is perfect with bus stop 25 not far from the entrance of the hotel where you can catch a bus into Skiathos town for 3 Euros.
At Hotel Muses the owners and their staff are very friendly and do everything to make your stay a very memorable one. We would not hesitate to recommend Hotel Muses and the resort of Koukounaries if you want a memorable and relaxing holiday. If you want a traditional family run hotel that makes you feel welcome this is the place for you and many people return year after year to prove this point.

Lovely, friendly hotel who look after you well, you feel part of the family, but that's the general feeling on all of Skiathos.
Family run hotel, very friendly and look after you well. Breakfast included is enough to get you going in the morning, great coffee!
Very clean, we had room 140, massive balcony and not overlooked.
Great walk in shower, but put the bath mat outside the bathroom door as the water runs out of the shower due to the wet room design, could do with a couple of octopus hooks on the back of the door for the towels would be my only advisory. Bins, and you know which ones I'm on about, emptied daily.
Sheets and towels changed every 3 days, brilliant.
€7 a day for Aircon, €2 a day for safe deposit, good value.
Lovely, friendly bar too, great draft beers, €5 at this point, G&T £7.
Nice little pool, loads of beaches around, mind €30 a day for 2 beds and a brolly a bit steep so bring mats if you have them, the hotel has brollys people have left to take down to the beach for shade.
Great little place, would come back, met some nice people too ❤️
