Great start to our holiday!

We arrived at the port by cab and had a little bit of a walk to the hotel reception, which is in fact (as they let you know in advance) a different place to the hotel itself. Dmitris was really friendly and helpful and led us on a short walk up to the hotel. It was a fantastic room, a really good size with cool glass bricks around the bathroom area, and a lovely view from the terrace. It was a really big comfy bed, good aircon, a fridge, and just a short walk down to the port.

Beautiful Room at The Blue

I can see this is only the second review for the Blue. Yes it’s along the far side of the harbour and you have to walk, yes you check in at The Water hotel, but for us that was not an issue. We were met on the bottom of the slope where our cases were taken from us. The walk up to the Blue is steep steps, our room was the top floor, front corner with balcony overlooking the port, and we loved it! The cases were carried up and down for us, the staff were lovely, we only stayed one night en route to Skopelos, but would definitely stay again.

Room in a House at the Far End of the Port with No Reception Desk

First to mention that it is not a hotel but a room in a ‘House’ with checkin at another property; there is no key code box to directly access the actual property.
It is a ‘house’ at the far end of the port amongst cobbled streets with very limited access. Taxis cannot drive there and hence they drop you at the ‘port’ (which in itself is very difficult to understand) with a 10min walk along the sea front to checkin at The Water (hotel, apartments? Who knows) The Water property is just off the far end of the port from the ferries), up a cobbled street & multiple steps. (See pictures)
There is no key code or anything to access The Blue House; hence our confusion as to why we had to check in at another property. From The Water, we then went to The Blue - another 5mins walk uphill along cobbled street, whilst our luggage was taken by a quad bike to the hotel; I wished there had been room for us!
The room was small but pleasant, well decorated with a great fridge and everything was clean.
There was a kettle and a coffee machine, slippers & hairdryer.
We had a small balcony with a side-sea view and the cobbled street.
