Can’t wait to return
Fantastic stay at The Water. The views are incredible, the location couldn’t be better, and the whole place is spotlessly clean. The staff were amazing — genuinely helpful and always going the extra mile. A perfect base in Skiathos.
Yes you could hear the Gin Fish bar but only loud on Sat/Sun. Rest of the time we couldn’t hear it. Would return in a heartbeat.

Disappointing experience
We chose this boutique hotel for its ideal bayfront location, but our five-night stay was deeply disappointing. Check-in was delayed an hour after 14 hours of travel, only to assign us a tiny room with a dismal view.
The bathroom flooded constantly due to poor drainage, forcing us to use towels as floor mats. Housekeeping was severely lacking—rooms were cleaned late, inadequately, or skipped entirely, leaving us without dry towels. The coffee station was consistently unstocked of everything.
A charming setting cannot make up for fundamental operational failures. I cannot recommend staying here.

Nightmare stay!
We booked a 'triple' room for 4 nights, 3 ladies. Firstly we arrived at 6.30pm, no one on reception, just a key left for us. No problem, we found the room, its was ridiculously small. A 30cm rail stand alone for all our clothes, no wardrobe, no drawers, we had to unpack and put all our clothes on the floor. Suitcases outside on the tiny terrace until it rained! Only 2 mugs, 2 glasses, 2 chairs on the balcony. Our problems started after we all showered the day after arrival. Firstly the air conditioning started dripping and we had a puddle of water on the floor by the door. Then water started seeping out of the bathroom and flooding the room and even under the door into reception, dangerously close to all the sockets and cables. We sent a message to the hotel number as there was no one on reception and didn't get a reply. We had to clear it up as best we could with the towels. The next day we reported it and was told, nothing could be done for 2 days. Each evening when we showered, the same thing happened. We went out on a boat trip on the Monday (the day it was due to be fixed) thinking it would all be done by the time we can back. We had a much sought after dinner reservation that night and arrived back to the room an hour before to get showered. The room was open and the plumber was still there - the bathroom was a mess, dirty drain water and sludge all over the floor and shower. We were told we couldn't use it and would have to go to a sister hotel to shower. It was a nightmare, we had to rush and then when we got back to our room, they were still working on it so couldn't even get ready properly. The receptionist then told us it was our fault as we had put toilet paper down the loo -- there was no signage to say this anywhere. She was even trying to show us a photo to 'prove' it. From reading other reviews, it seems to be a very common problem with the bathrooms flooding. We departed the next day. We contacted Expedia on our return who liaised with the hotel. The hotel came back saying we were lying and we hadn't reported it!! We contacted the hotel directly with several emails and to this date, have not had a reply. I will never stay here again and do not recommend it to anyone wanting a lovely holiday!!

This is a review of room "W" at The Water.
DO NOT BOOK The Water unless you are planning to party until 4 in the morning every day.
The "hotel" (it is more a tiny room than hotel) is next to a bar where every day is Saturday and the party is on until morning.
It is so misleading they don't mention this on the web side. First thing you get when you check in, are ear plugs and sleeping mask. Then you already know that you are up to a terrible stay at the The Water.
The room is so small packed with 3 beds (we were 3) and has no closet, so you are leaving in your suitcase. The problem is that you have no place to have your suitcase, so every thing is stacked at a small space on the floor. This means cleaning is impossible. The staff can just broom the narrow path you have created to be able to walk around the room to the terrace. The tiny fridge was defect and could not make ice cubes.
The terrace was narrow and had only 2 chairs for a 3 person room, and there was no space for a 3rd chair.
Imagine 3 persons trying to dry the swim suites, beach towels and bath towels on a terrace with no space and no place to hang your things without blowing down to the neighbour. Then you are thinking what about the bathroom???

Disappointing
There were 3 of us in our tiny room which had a double bed and a single bed, no wardrobe, just a rail with 6 coat hangers and no drawers. We basically had our clothes on the floor next to our beds. The view was beautiful but the balcony was really tiny with only 2 chairs. This was obviously a room for 2 people and a 3rd bed had been added. I’ve never stayed in a room where I’ve had to put my underwear on the floor. On our 2nd day we had a leak and water was running out off the bathroom and out of our front door. The lady in reception told me she couldn’t get anyone to fix it until Monday (it was Saturday when it started leaking) as there were only 2 people on the island that could fix it!!) We had to ask for a towel to put down so that we didn’t slip and she begrudgingly gave us one. The leak got worse and I messaged her 3 times but no reply. When we came back the following day, the leak was worse and the shower area was black as something had fallen down. We were told we would have to shower at one of their other properties across the road! On returning home to UK, I contacted Expedia and when they finally got through to the hotel was told they refused to compensate us even though 2 out of our 4 days had been affected. Our room cost us almost £700 for the 4 nights. I definitely do not recommend booking this hotel.
