A gem of a place run by the most hardworking family!
We have been staying at this wonderful hotel for a few years now, and every single trip reminds us why we keep coming back. It is so disheartening to read negative reviews from people who clearly just want something to complain about (or worse, are angling for a refund).
George and the family work endlessly to make every guest feel welcome, comfortable, and cared for. The photos on the listing are completely accurate, the rooms are kept spotlessly clean, and the layout works great. The air conditioning keeps the space beautifully cool, the beds are comfortable, and any time we’ve ever needed anything extra, George and co have gone above and beyond to help immediately—you only ever have to ask!
Yes, it’s a genuine Greek family establishment, not a soulless luxury resort, but the warmth, value, and constant upgrades they are making year after year make it feel like a home away from home.
Ignore the unfair "revenge" reviews—if you want an authentic, friendly, and relaxing stay in Greece, you couldn't be in better hands. We already can’t wait for our next visit! Thank you George and the family!

Wonderful place to stay
I have previously left a review for Golden Sun around 8 years ago but wanted to add another after reading the recent, very negative 1* review from someone who clearly has a personal grudge.
I have stayed in this accommodation four times in the past nine years and have had a happy experience on every occasion. The most recent visit was June this year.
Yes, the accommodation is 2*, but it is clean, spacious, very well located, has helpful staff and a fantastic pool area - none of which are mentioned in the one star review.
George and his family are great hosts and I always find them very accommodating. The complex is generally very peaceful and I haven’t personally encountered any issues with noise during my visits. If certain guests were selfishly being noisy and slamming doors, I don’t think that is the owner’s fault; this can happen anywhere.
The rooms have had recent renovations and the new waterfall shower is seriously the best I have encountered in the whole of Greece. Interesting that the critical review makes no mention of this?
We can all find criticisms if we look for them, but if people bear in mind that this complex is not pretending to be any higher than 2* accommodation, then guests should realise they’re actually getting a great place to stay. I wonder if the reviewer has had much prior experience of Greek apartments since Golden Sun is actually of a higher standard than many other 2* complexes.
Please ignore the ONE unfair and very poor review - this is a lovely place and I hope to return next year.

Personal impression
From my point of view/ The facility seemed very worn out to me, and the photos were nicer than reality. Criticism is politely deflected by the owner ("It's only 2 stars, everyone can see pictures beforehand")
Sleeping comfort & layout: In my view and opinion, the beds are rock hard. The second bedroom is a narrow, cramped cabinet with two single beds. The cooling for this small room runs only indirectly and insufficiently through the kitchen area. The larger bedroom does have its own newer cooling unit, but the interior doors in our apartment are so damaged that they cannot be closed properly at all.
Air conditioning & volume: From my point of view and feeling, the units are obviously partly very old and extremely loud. Since they only run via the magnetic key, the apartment is completely overheated in the evening when you come back.
The building is, from my point of view and feeling, extremely thin-walled – sleep before midnight was hardly possible for us. (Partly old, loud air conditioning units), we also heard toilet flushing and water pipes from neighboring apartments, many usage noises, metal entrance doors slamming shut loudly.
Bathroom: The sink is in the kitchen – anteroom-entrance area, the apartment is rented out for up to 4 adults.
Apartments on the ground floor like a basement, also terraces approx. 1 meter below ground level, we were very happy that we were not assigned one of these apartments.
In addition, we were falsely accused of noise (apology email from the operator is available).
Conclusion: In my view / the facility seemed in urgent need of renovation all around, completely overpriced for this quality level.

Dear Guest,
As i can understand who is writing this review, i would like to inform all the other guests or potential guests that this is a revenge review as they wanted a refund for not any particular reason. Just to have free holidays i guess. The women especially was very rude even if we offered the best possible deal for them and the man was happy to accept them but she didn’t.
Now for their saying, the pictures are exactly the same as we offer. All other guests can confirm that. The beds are medium soft as this is better for most people but if they wanted softer we can offer extra mattress. the room has two aircondition, 1 in the kitchen and another one in the master bedroom. For the second room if you have the door open the aircon is right opposite the door so it gets really cold really fast.
The noise was just one night that there was a child screaming for just 2 seconds as she had a nightmare. The reason i accused them for noise is because the wife after she heard the scream she went outside to the next door apartment and knocked the door really hard and got the people there scared. just to say that it wasn’t where the scream came from. You can understand that there wasn’t a noise for long time as she didn’t know where it came from, she just wanted to cause problems.
There were other incidents that this women was trying to get money back but i don’t want to continue with that.
I would just want to inform all the other potential guests that we are trying to make our guests happy. Whatever is needed we are trying to do it. just ask for it.
We know that in somethings we need to upgrade but we have already renovated all our bathrooms and the studios and ever year from now on there will be changes. Just keep updating

One stay is never enough
On our first visit to Tigaki we noticed this hotel on ourwalk to the salt lake so when we wanted to return we looked at this hotel and so glad we did. This is a little jewel nestled away with great views of the salt lake yet a couple of minutes walk to the main street and beach. George and his family are all very friendly and amazing, nothing is too much trouble. They respond quickly to any queries prior and during the hiday. The rooms are spacious and clean and have everything you need with a daily cleaning service including air conditioning! Beds are comfortable. (The pictures of tbe rooms on here are out of date, they have been upgraded).
The pools are a good size with plenty of sunbeds. Poolside bar - the food is excellent and reasonably priced and (i cant believe i am writing this) the homemade chips delicious. There is an enclosed childs play area with trampoline, swings, play house and lots of toys.
We have 3 children aged 4 and 5 and it is perfect and safe for them, they enjoy it every time we go. If we go out for the day or to the beach, they ask to go back to the pool! Of an evening with the children asleep you can sit on the balcony and admire the glorious sunsets over the lake and listen to the entertainment in tbe nearby hotel.
This hotel is perfect, excellent family run hotel, family friendly, fantastic views, close to the main street and beach but peaceful. Reasonably priced. Great for everyone especially families with young children. Once you have stayed, you will keep going back.

This hotel is perfect, excellent family run hotel, family friendly, fantastic views, close to the main street and beach but peaceful. Reasonably priced. Great for everyone especially families with young children. Once you have stayed, you will keep going back.

Fantastic place
I wouldn't normally write a review on my 3rd day, but I just had to share my experience.
What a little gem of a place, family run by dad, son and daughter who are all very pleasant and helpful
This place is amazing, I am staying in a 2 bed apartment which is both spacious and modern.
Very clean, the cleaner comes in every day, comfy bed and a lovely balcony that is 100% private
The pool area is lovely, clean, modern and with views to die for.
It is quite a small hotel, but I think this is what makes it so good.
The owners are so attentive and helpful (sorting taxis, transfers etc)
The food is very good, good home cooked food and presented very nicely and at a reasonable price too.
The location is perfect too, a 5 to 10 minute walk to the beach and a 5 minute walk to the restaurants, bars and shops.
All in all very very happy.
A special thank you to the daughter (chrysoula) who had been helping me out learning some Greek words.
