A hidden gem of Xela
The hotel is a great value for a traveler who wants to be near parque central. The staff is welcoming and ready to assist you in any way they can. When you stay take advantage of their free breakfast options prepared by their chef. They also have delicious reasonably priced lunch choices. Part of the charm of your stay will be the architecture of this old building. Ask the owner and he will give you a tour and explain the history of the building. It is a quaint comfortable hotel with a secure feeling close to parque central with staff on sight 24 hours a day. We felt so trusting that we left our heavy bags for a few days. Upon our return we were greeted like family.
We always had plenty of hot water for showering. There was bottled water to drink and tea or coffee to sip in the dining area. A laundry service was available. They will assist you with arranging transportation or answer questions about the city.
I will certainly stay here again when my travels take me to Xela.

Loud, cramped, dirty
This hotel has an excellent location and price which may sway you to select it for your visit to Xela. The hotel itself is terrible. The rooms are comically small (I had to turn sideways to get around the bed), there is near-constant noise that kept me up at night (and I am a very heavy sleeper), and the rooms were not kept clean.

Pleasant stay
My bf and I spent 2 nights here. Our room was clean, and quiet. Lots of hot water!!!
There’s a kitchen available for use.
Love the plants and the birds. I could hear the rain pattering in the common area during a rain storm, it was really relaxing.
The employees were really accommodating, and easily accessible.
Super close to the centro. And I believe they have a parking lot.
Would stay here again!

Quiet yet close to central park
Staff here were super attentive, friendly and helpful. Rooms were large and no problem getting extra blankets. The bathroom was large and warm water showers. We couldn't hear street noise or from other rooms. Parking is available. It's located about 3 blocks from the Central Park. There is a restaurant and the night reception said it was 20q per person. Come morning, it wasn't open. Not a big deal as Xelapan is a 5 min walk.

Hotel Nightmare
We made our reservations 3 weeks prior to our visit. We have been in Quetzaltenango several times before but both the hotels we have stayed in before were all out of rooms. 3 days before our scheduled check in date we received a call from what I think is the hotel owner, she was complaining about her staff and saying that she did not know anything about our reservation, the one we already had payed half in advanced and had given the receipt information to them.
I had to call her, cause she had spoken to my wife and hung the phone on her twice, because according to her my wife has a bad temper. So I had to speak to her, and after hearing from my wife's bad temper she said she solved the problem. The hotel we had payed half for was already full, but they have an hotel 'extension' in wich will be staying in.
Having no alternative, cause there was no rooms available elsewhere, we agreed.
We showed up and this lady owner walked us to the hotel 'extension', to our 'shock' this extension was just another crappy hotel. And when I say crappy, it's just being nice, no windows in this small room, no mirror, you could hear everything that was happening outside the room. THE WORST HOTEL ROOM I'VE EVER BEEN IN.
Did I mention this trip was in celebration of my wife's birthday? So we took it, there was no other thing to do. We barely spent any time in the room and luckily i had brought Lysol so I sprayed the room till the can was empty. We covered the pillow with t shirts of ours and you can imagine the rest.
So PLEASE BEWARE of this hotel and it's owner who couldn't care less about you, she complains about her staff as if it was you who hired them.
