Best view and best hosts!
We loved absolutely everything!
Best view with water in front, to the left and to the right. No street, no cars, no noise, no light: only the sound of the delicate waves all night long.
The apartment was comfortable and well equipped.
The hosts could not have been nicer: we had grappa together, talked about our countries, laughed and got to visit all the rooms of the hotel.
An absolute jewel: pure peace and beauty.
It was hard to leave!

Greed and disorganisation
Despite the beautiful view, our stay met a number of constraints which are likely to affect other visitors, so we would not recommend staying at this place.
1) We had been liaising with the host for several days, as we had planned to visit the island during the Easter break, and asked whether it was a good idea to visit during this period. When we got to the property, we were unable to do any activities, as the host said we could not rent a bike or boat due to the religious festivities. It was 'too complicated' for him. Everything was supposed to revolve around his festivities, yet we are not religious and had come to back island to experience its nature.
2) As there were barely no restaurants on the whole island, the host had offered to make arrangements with the only restaurant open on Sunday (in the morning, he had given us a few leftovers from the meal he'd had with his family - the eggs and chard were good). Aware of the volatile nature of interactions in the region, I asked him to confirm - to which he replied assertively - yet when we arrived (well within the agreed time of arrival) - the restaurant was closed.
3) On the day of departure, after being paid in cash, the host (who did not issue an invoice, as often occurs in the region to sustain the black market) went against the agreement which involved dropping us off at the port, which is several kilometres away from the property. This is because he had a major role to play in the religious procession, although this would only involve a delay of a few minutes. It was 6.35 AM and the ferry would leave at 7 and was a serious obstacle to our whole trip, due to the dearth of taxis and buses on the island, especially if not planned in advance. To make things worse, he insulted us, accusing us of not being 'normal' as we did not understand the importance of his procession. We rushed to the streets and asked one passer-by if he would take us yet he refused to help, as he was also on his way to the procession It would be interesting to know what their religion thinks about not helping those in need, especially when they are clients who came to bring money to the island. Finally, one kind person accepted to drop us off and we managed to board the ferry, which was already leaving by the time we got there. Interestingly, on the ferry we met someone who had also had dubious experiences with the host.

Kako smo i sami iz Dalmacije na posjet Lastovu smo se odlučili zbog promjene i posebno radi mira i manje ljetne gužve. Dobili smo što smo očekivali i više od toga. Prekrasan krajolik, smještaj tik uz more u ugodnoj obiteljskoj kući. Prijateljski i gostoljubivi domaćini. Cijena više nego fer. Pun pogodak!
