An incredibly rude and ill-mannered owner, but very friendly and welcoming young staff
A very friendly young waiter helped me moor my boat. Because of his kindness, I decided to have lunch for two at their restaurant.
Everything was fine until the owner started shouting loudly and rudely at the young waiter. Whatever their internal organizational problems may be, this kind of behavior—presumably by the father toward his son—is completely inappropriate and very unpleasant for the guests to witness.
The young waiter was genuinely friendly, polite, and helpful throughout. It seemed that the owner (the father) wanted to impress one of his friends by behaving in an authoritarian manner toward his son.
I came to this restaurant because of the kindness of the young waiter. Unfortunately, I will never return because of the rude, disrespectful, and embarrassing behavior of the owner.

Very good location, but in need of modernization
We spent a week in Mali Losinj, our first time in Croatia.
We chose the hotel because of its location and its small size with only 24 rooms.
We were informed in advance that there might be problems with the hot water and were offered a 20% discount if we came anyway, but after careful consideration we drove to Losinji anyway.
The receptionist Natascha gave us a very warm welcome and we were picked up from the car park a little further away in the hotel golf cart as agreed.
We had booked the junior suite because it had a balcony.
The price of €200 per night including breakfast was not a bargain.
The room was relatively large but not very luxurious, rather spartanly furnished.
There was no soap dispenser in the bathroom, just small soap in a bowl, the taps in need of repair, no facial tissues and very small bottles of shower gel and shampoo. The shower door did not stay closed and the tiles in the shower were damaged by dowels. There was hot water for 2 days, otherwise only cold.
There was no hotel folder with information and the floors creaked and sprung quite a bit. The beds were very soft and saggy. The breakfast room, which we didn't need because we could have breakfast on the terrace, was reminiscent of a snack bar. Large stainless steel counter behind which they cooked and fried, very simple furnishings and tiled floor. In the other room there was water damage on the ceiling. The breakfast buffet was overloaded with lots of small plates and bowls, no cover and lots of fruit flies. But it was very nice to sit on the terrace, right in the middle of the action.
Definitely not a 4 star ambience. The air conditioning worked well and the service staff were extremely friendly
and helpful. From what we've heard, a major renovation project is now underway, which is really urgently needed, it just doesn't meet today's standards and is simply too expensive for this condition. But the unique location and the few hotels in Mali Losinji make it possible.
We now have to wait and see what the renovation/refurbishment brings, as the marina and the promenade in front of the door certainly have their charm.

Perfect island stay
Fantastic stay at this wonderful hotel. The location is perfect, the rooms are very nice and clean and the breakfast is amazing. However, the best thing about this hotel is the wonderful staff; so friendly and helpful. We will certainly return, and recommend this hotel if you want to stay in a central location on this beautiful island

The definitely outdated standard in the entire hotel and the completely overwhelmed reactions to our criticisms (no hot water, a safe that kept "jamming", a sink with a leaky lid...) meant that our booking was history after a good 1 1/2 hours and we were able to leave immediately.
With a lot of goodwill - due to the hotel terrace and the very beautiful harbor view - this is a 2-star hotel, but definitely NOT a 4-star hotel.
There was one praiseworthy exception: the understanding and very friendly efforts of the young lady at the reception - we thank her for the smooth handling of the entire free cancellation on site.
