Beautiful apartment. Friendly host.

We have just returned from a wonderful 10 days at Vila Mare, Mlini. We were warmly welcomed at the accommodation by our lovely host with a drink on her private terrace. The host gave us plenty of tips and recommendations for things to do in the area and places to eat. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and comfortable. There was a hob but no oven, but as we weren’t planning on cooking this wasn’t a problem for us at all. There was plenty of hot water in the showers and the kitchen area had all the utensils we needed. The views from the outside terrace were absolutely stunning and there was plenty of outside space where we spent many a happy hour relaxing in the peace and quiet. The area is very hilly so would not be suitable for people with mobility difficulties. The accommodation was generally quiet other than one night of our stay when there was a local festival which played loud music until 1am … however this would have been heard from any accommodation in resort. Mlini is a lovely small resort with a local feel. We found the Croatian people to be incredibly friendly and helpful. The reasons for 4 star rather than 5 might not matter to everyone. There was aircon in the living area but no separate aircon in the bedrooms, which did get a little hot at night and the WiFi in the room we were in was poor

Excellent apartments

Wonderful host, Mare is informative, entertaining and kind. She took time to explain local transport, suggest restaurants and shops and consistently showed attention to detail by sweeping up when we were out so our patio and stairs were clean. The apartments are lovely, clean, well appointed and private with wonderful views. Mlini is best for those who can easily climb steps snd hills. Local restaurants have helpful serving staff and a selection of foods including lots and lots of shellfish. Overall a really interesting and impressive area with mountains looking down in the coastline which has crystal clear sea.

I would definitely go back

Mare is an excellent host. The apartment we stayed in was a home from home, with everything we needed for the week. Beautiful accommodation in an idyllic setting, a wonderful place that really made our holiday. This surpassed my expectations, so pleasant that it was a family run place though I booked through a large tour operator. Thank you Mare

Perfect holiday retreat

Perfect location with good facilities and Mare is lovely host. Air conditioned family apartment with Wi-Fi and great outside seating area. Nice and quiet with beach a short walk down the hill. Local restaurants excellent and frequent ferries to Dubrovnik and Cavtat. Would stay here again.

Fabulous location, fabulous host and wonderful accommodation

We booked to stay here with Jet2 as a family of 4 with a 14 & 8yr old. The location is absolutely beautiful, set up a hill with a stunning view across mlini. Mare herself is a fabulous host, when we arrived she invited us for a drink on the terrace and explained all there was to know about the area, the best places to eat and what activities to do. She was so helpful throughout the whole week and was fabulous with the children. It is up some steep steps or a steep hill but everyone in the party found it an ok walk.
The property is around 100yrs old and has had lots of work done remodelling to make apartments. It’s super spacious and was beautifully clean when we arrived. Mare had left fresh bread, butter, juice, a couple of local beers and pastries for breakfast for our first morning which was a lovely touch.
Would recommend this place to anyone, we will be going back!
