Amazing
It is a fantastic family run apartment in Croatia. Our flat was perfectly clean, with big rooms and a nice terrace. The garden and the pool was great and big the kids enoyed a lot! They have a nice playground also. They were very very kind, the hospitally was amazing.

Perfect base for visiting Bacina Lakes
If you’re visiting Baćina Lakes Villa Solo is a cracking place to stay. Lovely big apartments, a swimming pool, and the owners were super helpful, delivering very welcome free mojitos (delicious!) and even rigging up a TV outside on the terrace so we could watch the football one evening. Recommended!

Villa Solo - a wonderful location
We stayed at Villa Solo for 7 nights during the last week. This truly is a wonderful place to stay!
We spent two weeks Croatia, the first week in a villa with two other families elsewhere. The week at Villa Solo was so different for a number of reasons.
Firstly, it’s a really quiet location. Save for a bit of nearby building work during the day, you hardly hear a thing! It’s a rural location, away from busy roads and the beach. But this makes for the peacefulness and was much welcomed.
Jesna gave us a warm welcome on arrival, and her son Pero continued this, telling us of a nearby food festival that evening which we must attend. We did go along and what a find!
The accommodation is a very high standard. There is plenty of room and loads of floor space. The only issue was a problem with the fridge temperature. It just didn’t get cold. Some milk went off, and I raised it with Pero, but unfortunately nothing was done. The only slight negative in a wonderful week.
Pero, Jesna and Mladen are all wonderful kind people. We were treated to unlimited freshly picked figs, sliced watermelon by the pool, and the infamous cherry brandy which features in most reviews. Quite amazing!
The meal for all guests was superb. Fantastic cooked food, plenty to go round, and all of the guests sat round a big table chatting. We had Germany, Belgium, Spain and England visitors all getting along and enjoying fine food and wine.
Pero spent plenty of time recommending local sights to visit, nothing was too much trouble and we got to see some quite simply beautiful locations we’d have probably never discovered otherwise.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is only 30-50 minutes away, and is a really interesting place. We visited the waterfalls at Kravica and the city of Mostar. A great day out. The city of Split was also just 90 mins away on an ultra modern toll road motorway, another great day out.
The lakes which border Villa Solo are just a few minutes walk away, and with two large canoes available for free unlimited use, Villa Solo have once again come up trumps! This makes for a lovely morning before it gets too hot.
Overall we highly recommend this place, I’m sure we’ll look to go back one day as I’m sure there loads more we haven’t seen in this beautiful country!

Peaceful beautiful lake side holiday
I've been meaning to write this review for several months. villa Solo is a great place for a family stay whatever your children's age. The apartments are well equipped and air conditioned and there is a large communal kitchen for anything you can't find. The grounds are spacious with plenty of areas for relaxing and eating and a nice pool. Pero and his family are extremely hospitable, cooking fabulous food for us twice during our stay and very generous with cherry brandy in the evenings! You have the choice of socialising or quiet time as you choose.
The lake is a two minute walk away and in August the temperature was perfect for swimming and it's so peaceful especially when compared to the busy coast. You can use the canoes provided and explore, there are some lovely cafe bars in the next lake and diving platforms for kids (and big kids) to dive off- perfect!
Nearby Ploce is a functional port town without much to offer tourists but you can get the ferry to Korcula which is well worth a visit.
The coast line north of Ploce is beautiful but very busy- worth going early to your favourite spots.
We also headed into the hills for a days canyoning in the Cetina river gauge which was stunning and well worth a trip.
We would like to thank Pero and his family for a lovely holiday and also for the dried figs they sent us home for- I just used them to make a great Christmas figgy pudding!
