Very good apartment, but a bus ride or UBER cab from town

We stayed in the South Beach Deluxe Apartment for four nights. The one we stayed in was located on the ground floor. The apartment is very modern and beautifully furnished. Both the air con and Wi-Fi worked well. The kitchen is very well equipped with a very wide range of dishes and utensils. The sitting area is very comfortable and there is a spacious balcony with nice seating. The beds are very comfortable, and the bathroom is modern and has a terrific shower. It was very quiet. There is a Tommy supermarket about 10 minutes’ walk away down by the beach. The beach is nothing to write home about, but here were some outside bars and eateries just back from the beach. We walked into the old town – it takes about 45 minutes along the sea front and it is a pleasant but largely unshaded walk.
The downside is that it is a bit far out. There are also a couple of local buses into town, no 8 and 15 (which goes to the bus station as well as the centre) and also an infrequent 7, but it was not direct and it is not recommended. Their frequency was a bit erratic. We would definitely recommend staying here if you were prepared to be a distance outside the main town. I am not sure how much a car would help, given the issues of parking in Split. We were recommended to use UBER. Check-in was a pain for us as there was a problem with the dishwasher. We had to dump our stuff and go into town for a few hours on a very hot day.
