Hotel HVAR [PLACESHOTEL] by Valamar potpuno je obnovljen 2020. godine, a nalazi se na samoj šetnici uz plažu, na svega 50 metara od mora. Objekt je okružen borovom šumom te sadrži vanjski bazen i teniske terene.

Great time, lovely [place], relaxing and healthy
The hotel is a lovely place to come for a nice healthy break, with breakfast spread being very good (juicer, sparkling wine, omelette station etc.). À la carte food is also tasty and c 50% of menu changes every day. You pay via wristband loaded with €30pp per day (2026) if half board, which is actually quite easy. Once exhausted, you just use your room number. Drinks are normally priced, though soft drinks near c €5 felt a bit expensive for only 200ml when no shop nearby, and could be more non alcoholic cocktails on offer (only 4). Taps water free though with flavoured water also available and free (and ice). All bar staff and wait-staff very friendly.
We took part in a lot of the stay fit activities (fitness classes, paddle boarding, stretching, aqua fit) and Rino was a really great instructor throughout. Sure he was sick of us! You can also kayak and do other activities, but recommend booking at least 3 days prior. There is a full timetable of activities you can take part in to keep busy, or just chill by the pool! You are not pestered to take part which is really nice, making the break even more relaxing. There are plenty of cabanas and sunbeds all the very good comfortable type with mattress. Charge for beach sunbed a bit harsh and could/should be removed to keep up the luxury element (€10 per sunbed, €20 per cabana, with rental charged c 12pm).
We also had massages that were great, including a pregnancy massage for my wife and a deep tissue massage for me. Enes and another lady present on Friday 4th. Choice of oils (ex essential if pregnant) was offered, as was choice of massage if prefer something lighter or certain areas. Again, recommend booking in advance.
Hotel felt very modern but rooms could be partially refreshed, mainly our bathroom (painted tiles, some tired fixtures). Rooms were kept very clean by the daily cleaner. We had a little trouble with our air con so left it in all the time and it was manageable. Beds were comfortable but pillows quite soft, depending on your preference. Fairly spacious.
Stari grad itself is also nice, recommend a water taxi from port to hotel €4pp or hotel to stari grad town €3pp. Cheaper than a car taxi, if your luggage is not too heavy.

Perfect family holiday
We are always happy to come back — this was our third visit already! Excellent service, beautiful pools and a wonderful beach. The cocktails and food were also fantastic. Congratulations on maintaining such a high standard. Well done, and keep it up!

Well located and good standard of hotel
A 3 night stay for us. Great room with large terrace with Bali bed and good seating. Bathroom very compact with enclosed shower but clean. Super comfortable and big bed. Reception is a bit hurried when you are speaking with them, they were very efficient but it’s a small busy area. Great pool area with lots of beds. Usual issues of people taking beds and then not showing up for hours and this isn’t very well managed. Also saw people taking two lots of beds and moving between them. I know this is difficult for hotel to deal with, but my feeling is there must be a way this could be better managed. Good choice of food at breakfast and really liked the system of credits that they provide you with. You can use them across your stay and it’s super flexible. Had a great massage. Service generally very good throughout the hotel. I think they are trying to create a bit of a beach club vibe, so music from first thing through to 11pm. We had a great stay, but it probably wasn’t our favourite type of hotel, we prefer something a little calmer. Also should mention that walk into Starigrad is very easy (or you can take a water taxi €3 per person each way) and there are some exceptional restaurants there, so definitely get into the little town if you are staying at this hotel.

Kayak tour
Kayak tour with dino at amicor. Guide was excellent. He showed us starfish urchins and sea cucumbers. Well organised very friendly and good value. All 8 of us Really enjoyed it
