Clean and panoramic room, you hear the sound of the waves, comfortable bed and pleasant air conditioning. I just slept there because I was at the beach all day

Very nice holiday

We have already made the 3x holiday here at the Resort Petalon. The check-in is uncomplicated and very fast. The staff is super friendly, helpful, hardworking and even fulfills wishes to make your stay beautiful. Our daughter had a birthday during the stay and was surprised several times. The rooms are nice. The animation and program are also great. The animators are clearly having fun and setting the mood. There's something for everyone. The food is very good. The location is also very nice. There's something for everyone. Whether camping or hotel. It's not far from the port. We definitely haven't been on holiday here for the last time.

Unfortunately disappointing - hygiene deficient

We were looking forward to a very nice holiday and were unfortunately very disappointed. We had booked an apartment with 2 bedrooms and a kitchenette. When we took over the accommodation, the apartment was unfortunately not clean. Kitchen, floors, boxes, doors... everything was unfortunately very dirty and unacceptable. After consultation with the reception, the cleaning service was sent again. Unfortunately, this made no difference. Kitchen etc. were just as dirty as before. In short, we went to the supermarket the next day to clean and disinfect the apartment - otherwise we could not have imagined staying as a guest.
During the stay, the cleaning team barely stopped by, occasionally for fresh towels and new toilet paper. Unfortunately not a serviced apartment as we had actually imagined. The control of the rooms is missing, the cleaning equipment of the staff is poor. Management apparently does not address the issue of hygiene.
Overall, the hotel has come of age. This can also be seen in general facilities e.g. pool, toilet facilities.
Actually, you would have to completely renew the apartment, as it is actually very worn out. The door sticks dissolve, the boxes are warped, the joints in the bathroom mold. An entire make-over would make sense; presumably for financial reasons this is not feasible.
Finally, some children have developed ear infections - presumably because of hygienic deficiencies in the pool. The water is probably contaminated.

Die Sauberkeit unserer Unterkünfte hat für uns oberste Priorität, und es ist bedauerlich, dass unser Reinigungsservice in Ihrem Fall nicht den gewünschten Standard erfüllt hat. Ihre Rückmeldung nehmen wir sehr ernst, und wir werden umgehend mit dem Reinigungsteam sowie dem Management Rücksprache halten, um Verbesserungen sicherzustellen.
Bezüglich der Wartung und Ausstattung möchten wir anmerken, dass wir uns der Notwendigkeit von Renovierungen bewusst sind und diese schrittweise umsetzen – Ihre Hinweise helfen uns dabei, die Prioritäten besser zu setzen.
Was die Hygiene im Pool betrifft, so wird das Wasser regelmäßig kontrolliert.
Wir bedauern sehr, dass wir Ihren Urlaub nicht zu einem angenehmen Erlebnis machen konnten, und hoffen dennoch, dass Sie uns in Zukunft noch eine Chance geben werden, Sie von unserem verbesserten Service zu überzeugen.

Won't be coming back

We visited this hotel for 10 days in June 2025. Before booking I had read the reviews, and a few people had mentioned that it was hilly. I had recently had a double knee replacement, so requesting a room lower down the complex. I understood that this request may not be facilitated but booked anyway. This complex is not just hilly, it is extremely hilly. We booked in and a porter took us to our room at the very top of the complex. There were quite a number of steps down to our room (no ramps) and we struggled down with our cases. Our room was very dark, even with the shutters open, as our balcony was surrounded by trees and insects. It states that every room has a sea view. In ours if you squatted down and looked under the trees, you could just about see it. The air condition wasn't working either. We went back down the hill to reception to ask if we could change rooms, and was told a firm "no, too busy. All full." We mentioned that the aircon wasn't working and was told it wasn't yet switched on, and maybe would be tomorrow, but she would get someone to look at it. It was 24°c at this time and set to get hotter. We went to the on site supermarket to get some drinks for the room, but that shut at 2pm. We were looking for the cafeteria as mentioned in the brochure, and was told by a member of staff that it had closed 2 years previously. That evening when having a shower I couldn't get the shower doors to meet, so the floor got wet through, there was also no shower mat. As I had a shower the water wasn't going down the drain and lots of mucky water started to come back up, so I got out before I flooded the place. A member of staff came to take a look at the aircon, which he said was broken and would be fixed on Tuesday (this was Saturday), it wasn't fixed our entire stay. He did unblock the shower the following day though. The rooms were visited 3 time in 10 days by the cleaner, who only changed the towels and made the beds. The bedding wasnt changed in our 10 day stay. When my husband used the shower and tried to shut the shower door, it fell off on him. The food in the dining room was tasty, although could have been a little warmer. And we always found something we liked. You can now get wine and beer with your meals which was a nice touch. There was no evening entertainment. And the only bar that was open was in the pizza restaurant by the beach, but this closed at 9.30pm. So unless you wanted to go into town for a drink, you had nowhere else to go. We couldn't sit on our balcony because it was full of midges and ants. The pool area was lovely and clean, although the staff could be a little grumpy. The umbrellas were a nightmare. As it was breezy and the bases weren't sturdy enough, they were flying all over the place. Both me and my husband got hit by one. And I saw one fly over the balcony of the pool. Luckily nobody was walking below. The beach area was lovely, and there was some lovely walks round and about. There's a small train that stops at the gates of the resort every 45 mins and takes you straight into town for €3 per person. We made the best of our time there, but wouldn't go again. If you have a mobility issue or disability, this isn't the place for you, due to hilly nature of the resort, or the steps up to or down to your room. At night the lighting is very poor on the road, most of the street lights not working. There were no lights on the steps up to, or down to your room. A light only came on when you got to your door.

Wonderful Seaside Stay with Just a Few Minor Issues

We had a wonderful time at your place. The beach was clean, the pool was clean, and the surroundings were also well maintained. The room was very clean and comfortable. The only slight inconvenience was the bathtub, as it is quite high. We had a beautiful view of the sea. The food was amazing with a wide variety to choose from. The only small downside was that the market is closed on Sundays—or rather, it closes at 2 PM. I think it would be better if it stayed open longer.
