Traditional Konkan wadi feel with authentic home cooked Maharashtrian food
We had a wonderful stay at Jogalekar Cottage, Alibaug. The authentic Maharashtrian home-cooked food was outstanding — especially the modak, aaloo (patra) vadi, fresh fish, and delicious snacks. Every meal felt fresh and made with care.
The property is peaceful and beautifully maintained, giving a true traditional Konkan wadi feel with coconut and supari trees and lovely flowering plants like plumeria.
The owners and staff are extremely friendly and attentive, making us feel truly welcome throughout our stay.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing and authentic Konkan experience. Would definitely love to visit again!
जोगळेकर कॉटेज, अळिबाग येथे आमचा मुक्काम अतिशय छान झाला. अस्सल महाराष्ट्रीयन घरगुती जेवण अप्रतिम होते — विशेषतः मोदक, अळू (पात्रा) वडी, ताजे मासे आणि चविष्ट नाश्ते खूपच आवडले. प्रत्येक जेवण ताजे आणि प्रेमाने बनवलेले वाटले.
ही जागा अतिशय शांत व निसर्गरम्य असून खऱ्या अर्थाने पारंपरिक कोकणी वाडीचा अनुभव देते. आजूबाजूला नारळ, सुपारीची झाडे आणि चाफ्यासारखी सुंदर फुलझाडे आहेत.
येथील मालक व कर्मचारी अतिशय आपुलकीने व प्रेमाने पाहुणचार करतात आणि पाहुण्यांची उत्तम काळजी घेतात.
कोकणात शांत व अस्सल अनुभव हवा असणाऱ्यांसाठी नक्कीच शिफारस करण्यासारखे ठिकाण. पुन्हा नक्की येऊ!

Drunk owner , misbehaving owner, dirty pathetic resort
Pathetic staff and arrogant, rude , vulgar owner..when we came for check in the owner of resort was drunk and misbehaving with me, rude talking, denied for basic room service, asking about cash for payment only, rooms and toilets are very dirty and in rooms was spreading of only dust...I suggest never ever go such drunk joglekar owner resorts..and don't waste your hardworking money on such pathetic jogalekar resort..and save your sister and wife life and respect from such dangerous persons and staff of jogalekar resort..

Ok for a day visit
The place is around 6km from Mandwa jetty and an auto ride will cost Rs 250.
If you are interested in spending some quiet time away from the bustling Alibaug, then this could be a good choice. We visited on a weekday and there was no other booking. The charges for a day visit with room is Rs 1400 per head -- includes breakfast, lunch and tea. The charges for food only is Rs 1000 per head.
The food was simple, but freshly cooked. The piping hot modaks with ghee are a must eat.
You can also walk to the Awas beach from the back gate of the cottage and spend some time there too.
Overall, good for a day visit.

Not the erstwhile Jogalekar!
While the prices have gone up but unfortunately the food and hospitality have gone down!
This was perhaps my 3rd or 4th visit in the last 4 years as it was one of my favourite place to rejuvenate however this time it was disappointing to experience average food taste specially non-veg! Fried fish for lunch was totally below average (had to actually throw the food it was that bad!) & chicken for dinner was way beyond spicy, though few other items were much better.
While the owners are still very kind but it seems the support staff are ruining the entire experience, feedback is taken as a complaint and with resistance. Staff starts arguing if you share negative feedback which is one of the most dangerous traits in hospitality industry.
Hope they return to their lost glory again soon!

We are sorry to here that you had not so good experience during your this visit. As far as our ethics are concerned, we have not at all downgraded any of our quality or service parameters. Some times it happens that few guest come with some self assumed ideas and expectations which sometimes doesnt exactly come into reality then the question of "disappointing experience " come into existence . The day you visit, lot of other guest had also visited , infact we had few guest who stayed for 5-6 days. Even they had wonderful stay. We will be sharing their review on social media soon. The most important thing which may people forget is asking or giving feedback to wrong person at wrong place. Whether good or bad Reception is the only legit place where any concern must be raised or informed. We trust all our staff hence it is hard to believe that our "staff argues". If still this is the case your concern was supposed to be informed in reception and not to the service boy or person. We always respect reviews either good or bad, but as you said lost glory, but I would correct you that the glory is not lost at all and this is just because of our staff.

Pathetic experience
This is the worst managed so called hotel. Service is pathetic, rooms are small and shabby, cleanliness is horrible, the bedsheets are not washed, no toiletries, no kettle in the room. The surrounding area is also very bad. The nearby beach which is Awas beach is secluded, dirty and rough. Don't waste your money on this property. There are no options for food in nearby vicinity so you have to eat at the hotel only, the breakfast is very basic, dinner too is pretty basic and the charges are high. The staff is rude, not helpful at all. Total waste of money all in all.
