Best Hotel

We stayed at the hotel Arms - Kalimpong last December 2023 for New Year Eve and checked out on 2 January 2024. The location is great and the hospitality is awesome. Previously we have booked some other hotels through MMT but the hotel is horrible, so I have contacted some of my known people and they suggested me hotel Arms. Once we checked in everything was good and beautiful.
Will definitely stay at the same hotel once we were in Kalimpong and Yes, definitely we recommend this hotel to everyone.

Feedback

1. They charged for a deluxe room and provided a pigeon room which is actually a scam with the travellers.
2. No daily housekeeping services like towel/ bedsheet changes.
3. Rooms are so claustrophobic.
4. They penalized us with INR 700 as according to them we spoiled their towel by putting hair dye on that which was an absolute lie whereas there was no communication from the reception team at the time of check-in regarding this type of penalty charge norms.
5. Driver which we took from them for darjeeling is so rude and ill mannered.
6. Hotel staff behaviour is not good.
7. Location of the property is terrible far away from the main market whereas at the time of booking they said it's just 3-4 mins. Actual time is minimum 15-20 minutes(inclined walking).
8. Food options are very limited.
Overall not at all recommended to stay with.

AVERAGE HOTEL

Rooms are small and there is no lift ...elderly people may experience trouble climbing the stairs. Location is good and excellent.
I saw that there is tremendous shortage of staff in this hotel. Only two to three people including the relatives of the owner are managing the entire hotel. Only one or two items in breakfast. Entry into the hotel is different and if you want to go to restaurant first you have to come on the road and then enter from the different gate for restaurant entry. Food was average. If you want to experience like home may visit this hotel or else search another option. Road in front of the hotel is so narrow. This hotel is totally new construction and the owners are inexperienced in this industry.

The worst experience I’ve ever had. The staff were incredibly rude and unprofessional from the moment we checked in. They acted like they were doing us a favor just by answering basic questions and seemed annoyed whenever we asked for help. The service was absolutely terrible—rooms weren’t cleaned properly, and it took forever to get even simple requests like a room service. The attitude of the staff was dismissive and disrespectful, making the entire stay stressful and unpleasant. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Stay away!
