We stayed for three nights in a Superior Room. The room was large and comfortable. It was cold but we'd been given a heater that we did appreciate. The bathroom was large and well equipped. I think generally for India though it was expensive. It's living off it's old reputation a bit. But we picked it because basically everyone recommended it from the Man in Seat 61 to my mothers best friend. The grounds were lovely. Breakfast was good (buffet style). I wasn't impressed too much by the evening meal. I thought it was too expensive. And it was held by candlelight - it was so dark I had to use the torch on my phone to read the menu...
Overall - it was good, not excellent. If I went back I'd choose somewhere else, because we've done this now, but I'm glad we stayed there this time.

DO NOT STAY HERE
Despite cancelling one room within the agreed time limit because of the Trump -Iran conflict , we have not received the refund that was agreed by the manager during our stay. Since then 10 emails have been ignored. Amazing that they don’t seem to care about their reputation. The rooms themselves were freezing and sheets damp.

Good but could be great.

Food is good tho portion sizes couldbe better.. most of the things on the menu unavailable which was not good. Room suites in main building quite haggered and old and could be maintained well..
Hotel us well located. Bath tub was broken and used as shower area. Carpets were not well maintained. Could be so much better. Staff tho were great.

Hotel photos false and misleading. Don't pay until you see the room!

We booked a Super Deluxe Cottage. It was so bad we actually lost our deposit just to get out of there. Old, cracking walls. Electrical wires sticking out of the bathroom wall. 2 disgusting twin mattresses shoved together to make a "king" bed. No safe. No gym. Do yourself a favor and book 1 of the 3 luxury hotels right nearby. The Mayfair was great.

We had a fantastic stay at Windamere Hotel. The property beautifully maintains its colonial heritage charm, offering a peaceful and elegant atmosphere that feels truly special.
