Frescoed rooms and dream common areas
Hotel Bissau Palace is housed in an ancient haveli and amazes with the historical charm of its rooms, spacious and clean, elegantly furnished with antique furniture and enriched by beautiful frescoes and paintings on all walls. Hot water is available via a boiler in the bathroom, and Wi-Fi covers the entire structure.
The common areas are equally charming: the breakfast room is elegant and welcoming, with small sitting areas perfect for relaxing, surrounded by architectural and decorative details that recall the tradition of haveli. The buffet breakfast is well-kept and complete, perfectly in line with the refined style of the hotel.

Not recommended
Would accept that the main rooms and reception area are beautiful. However the condition of the rooms are not up to standard for the price they are charging 5000 INR.

We reported these matters to management on leaving I was told should have reported these matters the day before and should have left .I tried to explain that I had reported these matters to our driver and thought he was reporting back as he knew the owner and we were in Jaipur a limited time and did not want to change hotels . The manager just ignored me
I know I am in India but this is my 5 th trip to the country

Quirky hotel, but getting a bit shabby
First off - the good bits. I loved our quirky spacious room which had really comfortable beds and lots of space, plus lots of hot water (not always a given in India I have found!). The hotel is situated in a large courtyard, set back from the bustling streets so is a quiet oasis.
Now the other bits! The restaurant is disappointing, and the vibe was generally a bit run down and quirky descended into scruffy. The restaurant itself is dark and feels a bit depressing, and the service was slow and it felt a bit like we were being a bother asking for anything.
So if you want a quiet and atmospheric bed for the night, I’d recommend this place - but if you want to eat, or have breakfast or feel welcomed, I’d avoids

A historical gem!
Staff were all lovely - very helpful and smiling. Especially Sandeep who went the extra mile. We were met at Jaipur airport by Mr Khan who was a fantastic driver during our visit and we had many laughs! The hotel is clean with lovely rooms and comfortable beds. It is a real historical gem and a treat to stay in this former palace which was like stepping back in time! An oasis of calm in the hectic city. For me the only disappointment was the pool which didn’t resemble the photos and didn’t appear to be as clean as hoped. However this is a minor point and I would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you for such a memorable stay.

Poor
An amazing old building but very poorly maintained. Electrics seemed frankly dangerous. Broken tiled floor in bathroom and very dim lighting. Filthy doors and windows. This building needs a full refurbishment yet is charging more than many fantastic hotels I have stayed in while touring India. When we complained we were told we could leave. Very near a mosque that woke us up. All in all it is poor value for money.
