Located in Dharamshala, Hotel vaikunth is in the city center. Tushita Meditation Centre and Dalai Lama's Residence are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Dharamshala Skyway and Ayuskama Ayurveda Institute. Tibetan Institute Of Performing Arts and Kumar Pathri are also worth visiting. This smoke-free hotel features concierge services, dry cleaning, and laundry facilities. Free WiFi in public areas and free self parking are also provided. Additionally, a 24-hour front desk and tour/ticket assistance are onsite. Hotel vaikunth offers 24 air-conditioned accommodations with complimentary bottled water and hair dryers. Beds feature Egyptian cotton sheets and premium bedding. 32-inch LED televisions come with premium satellite channels. Bathrooms include showers with rainfall showerheads. Guests can surf the web using the complimentary wireless Internet access (speed: 100+ Mbps (good for 1–2 people or up to 6 devices)).

Dirty Rooms, Rude Staff, and No Refund Despite Leaving Early
We booked this property through Agoda, but the hotel contacted us directly and asked us to make payment via bank transfer instead of through the Agoda platform. After making the payment, our Agoda booking showed as “Cancelled,” which was both confusing and concerning.
Another issue was the hotel’s identity. The booking referred to the hotel as “Ginger,” but when we asked taxi drivers to take us there, they said no such hotel existed. The actual property is called “Vaikunth,” creating unnecessary confusion.
The hygiene standards were unacceptable. The hotel room was dirty, the restaurant was unclean, and the lobby was in an even worse condition. Basic hospitality was also lacking—they made a fuss over providing drinking water and even tea bags for the room.
To make matters worse, the lady at the reception was rude, dismissive, and completely unwilling to address our concerns. Despite repeatedly raising the cleanliness and hygiene issues, no meaningful action was taken.
We had booked a three-night stay but were so dissatisfied that we checked out after just two nights because we did not feel comfortable staying in such unhygienic conditions. Despite leaving early due to these issues, the hotel refused to offer any refund whatsoever for the unused night, even after we explained our reasons and pointed out the cleanliness concerns.
This was one of the worst hotel experiences we have had. Between the misleading booking process, poor hygiene, unprofessional customer service, and the complete refusal to provide any refund despite legitimate complaints, I cannot recommend this hotel. Travelers should think twice before booking.
