Lovely river side setting
We received a very warm welcome from the manager and two other members of staff who were very helpful and friendly throughout our stay.
The setting on the Chalakudy river was amazing. We were staying in one of the good sized bungalows facing the river. Meals were taken in the main house. All the meals were vegetarian and delicious, so full of flavour. We had a full explanation of all of the dishes, which we found interesting. We were taken on a farm tour looking at the abundant fruit and veg grown organically there. Ending with a fresh coconut cut down for us to drink as we sat admiring the birdlife on the river, which was just lovely. We also had a ride on a traditional bullock cart.
We had two one hour sessions with the yoga master, tailored to our ability, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We also had two one and a half hour Ayurvedic treatments each which included a steam at the end. These were carried out by a lovely husband and wife team of Ayurvedic practitioners. We both found the treatments to be utterly blissful and
just what we needed.
Our only complaint was that the comfort was not there in the bungalow The bed was a good size but the mattress was the hardest we have ever slept on. There was no comfortable seating in the large living area and the seating on the veranda was also not comfortable.
