Divyachethram

We visited Koodal Azagar, Madurai Meenakshi Temple. Next day morning, we visited Thiru Mogur (Chakarathalwar Temple), Oothakadai Narasimhar, Thiru Kostiyur which is in Sivaganga district, Pillayar Pati, Alagar koil which is around 25 Kms outskirts of Madurai. Four important divaya desam could be completed in a day. Other Madurai Meenakshi, Thiruparankundram, Pazamuthircholai and Pillayarpadi is a bonus. These temples except for Murugar temple it is opened from 7 to 12.30 PM and 4. to 8 30 PM.
We hired a Indigo whose contact was given by my family friend, who is trust worthy, knew the routes very well and manages time well all the more safe and economical. Could contact Perumal 9842178102. People from Chennai could see all these temples and return back by train on the same day.
Currently Tirukostiyur two temples are open others they had covered as renovation work is on. However the place Ramanujar openly spoke about the thiru manthram is open for visit.

Visit to madurai 2 days

Hotel keerthi is an OK place to stay. the correct price is 1200/room, if you are paying anything higher you may look at other option.
The walls are damped, windows do not have latch, rooms have remained closed for long time it seemed when we entered the room on 1st floor. The restaurant is good and offers fast service.
Overall ok, but I think OYO rooms are doing better at the same rate

You are lucky if your bathroom flush is working

No room will have cupboards or hangers and at least door/wall hangers for your trousers to hang. Very very average hotel. Except bed I cant rate anything in this hotel. I was given a room in which I found that bathroom flush was not working. Secondly I was getting electric shocks from current switches in bathroom when I ON/OFF bathroom light. After which I gave a complaint and I was shifted to another room. Most annoying part is you cannot find any wardrobe to hang your shirts and trousers. You need to put them right next to your bed and sleep. One positive point is free breakfast included in the price.

Dirty hotel

Not worth the amount mentioned. Everything about this hotel is dirty. We went for a marriage and had to stay here as it was prebooked by our friend. And this hotel rooms were so dirty, that we had to shift the hotel in middle of our stay to "feel" little bit clean. They did not provide any mats at the bathroom, no matter how much we requested the front desk there was a reply that it will be provided in half an hour. The bed wrappers were also dirty, that we requested for change of sheets and waited till our checkout day for them to clean the sheets but no one came.
Will never recommend or stay at this hotel again.

Budget hotel - Close to the temple and railway station

Hotel Keerthi is a budget hotel which is good for family as well as single travellers. It is situated in a cramped and crowded lane but that is how Madurai is. If you are just visiting for a day or two, or Madurai is your pit stop then its worth staying in this hotel.
For the amount they charge it is pretty decent. One can't really look for the comforts of a 4-star hotel here but they have surely tried their best to make it seem classy. Its proximity to a good coffee place (Gowri Gangaa) and the small Jigarthanda shop makes it a worth while stay.
Overall, if you are someone who are on a budget trip, or a less luxurious explorer this is an apt place to stay.
