Must visit!

Fantastic experience at the Green Hotel! The staff are all so professional and kind; they really make you feel right at home. I have to mention Siddhesh specifically—his service was excellent and he was always there to help with whatever we needed. The hotel is very hygienic, comfortable, and has great availability. Will definitely stay here again.

Lovely hotel, shame about the breakfast

The hotel is a beautiful heritage hotel in reasonable distance from the center. Our room was wonderful. Only one thing spoiled our experience; the hotel breakfast was always late and had only a couple of items on offer. This marred an otherwise wonder stay

Disappointing, shabby, noisy - not palatial at all :-(

So disappointing.
Twenty years ago this was probably shabby chic but now it’s just shabby.
Rooms dark and a bit spartan (some also mouldy, damp and smelly), very noisy (between main road and building site), staff affable but ineffectual, Wi-Fi very patchy … you get the idea.
Malgudi Cafe served dreadful overpriced food but ok coffee.
Management should be replaced lock, stock and barrel.
Such a pity - an ex-palace run by a charity should be a go-to rather than an avoid.

Summer trip 2025

Pleasant and eco friendly stay. Food was at reasonable price with good taste. No AC and TV which makes us to live life naturally. Open area dining is awesome. Friendly staff. Malgudi coffee shop is an added attraction. Very amazing menu and taste also was really good

Beautiful and charming. A wonderful Oasis.

This characterful place was our favourite during our holiday, an oasis of calm. It was a beautiful room, spacious, clean, tastefully decorated with period furniture, in the main house. Cheaper rooms are available in the annexe, but we thought the main house was well worth it. There was a lovely little cafe with garden courtyard inside, serving good coffees, and the outdoor restaurant was a great place for spending the evening. Needless to say, the food was also good although we didn’t have any of the western dishes, only local. While not in the centre of town, it was a short 10 -15 min tuk-tuk ride to the palace, and also easy walking to get around the local Gokulam neighbourhood. Finally, staff were all courteous and helpful. We were made to feel very welcome and loved being here. Highly recommended.
