Reasonable price, Comfy stay, conveniently located

Gayatri Kunj was recommended to me and not disappointed. Arrived late and had miscalculated location based upon Google maps went to Lakshman Jhula. Hard to find at night but plenty of signs after cross the right area, Ram Jhula bridge. Staff came by scooter and picked me up.
Staff consistently polite, resourceful and friendly.
Hotel off the path so very quiet. Room is large enough to practice yoga. Lived out of backpack since no dresser. Bed very comfy and clean. Bath area very clean and all marble. Toilet very modern. No real views unless even number or corner room. Small balcony to dry clothes but bring clothes pins because windy at times.
When I stayed, Wifi very strong, could call out on Viber w excellent reception. Shower cold at times, this is India.
Close to Ashram where Beatles stayed, 5 minute walk to heart of Ram Jhulah, 15-20 to Lakshman Jhula . Several good places to eat nearby.
Will stay here again when I come back.

Do not use their spa

This hotel has nice rooms, but poor service. The spa located next door is a complete rip off and really dirty. The owner refers to his staff as "madam" and makes them serve him tea all day, while he does nothing. He is lazy and acts as if he's doing you a service by allowing you to request a service. You will not be satisfied or happy with your treatment. If you complain to the hotel owner, he won't care. They don't do refunds either. It's just a scam.

Great views just difficult to find

The Lodge can be difficult to find as it is not accessible by car. You need to know that you have to walk the last 20 meters down alleyway and be careful and have good footwear on. The upper floors have better views. Food and drink can be brought from the sister hotel Hotel Narayatri Kunj. You can also use the Wifi and internet there. They are helpful but as you are just getting a room not much else is required. There was hot water and towel but no soap or toilet roll, so remember to bring you own but there is a shop nearby. Reasonably good value but I got a lot more in Delhi for just 200 rupees more so think I was probably paying over by using Agoda but could not find another way to book. The family owners are helpful when required.

Spotlessly clean and comfortable

We were there 1week. The room are very clean and bed is comfy. Rooms have small balcony. We paid 400R.
Staff dont speak much english. Food was in the "sister hotel". A little bland but nice. Internet is expensive! Normally they host yoga TTC but not when we were there so we were free to use tgeir amazing covered rooftop wooden room.

basic, quiet room with a lovely view

We stayed in the lodge in early December and had a mixed experience. At first, the lodge is a little tricky to find as the signs to the location stopped after a while. As the lodge is owned by the same people as Hotel Narayana Kunj, we were able to go to their front desk and someone walked us over from there (it's right nearby). The room itself wasn't made up at the time and was basically fitted - bed (comfortable with a warm duvee which was needed at night) bedside table and one plastic chair. The bathroom was clean but BYO toilet paper and soap. The shower is hot for a maximum of 2 minutes only. The room had a lovely balcony and a beautiful view of the mountains and it was quiet.
The wifi needs to be connected from Hotel Narayana Kunj at a daily price per device and it isn't always strong in the lodge. The staff in the hotel assisted with enquiries as the lodge was scarcely staffed (also, our room wasn't cleaned or bin emptied so you might need to ask for this service)
I think the lodge would suit yoga practitioners as it's right in the Swarg Ashram area which will cater to all your needs. We appreciated being out of the busier area near Ram Jhula and it was a pleasant walk to get to the cafes near to Luxman Jhula. We ate at the Happy Yogi Cafe right nearby several times and the food was lovely.
Overall, it's a good choice if you're looking for something basic, clean and quiet in the Swarg Ashram part of Rishikesh.
