Good Hotel With Good Team !!
We enjoyed our stay here for 03 nights and it was very comfortable. The room was clean and the lines were very clear. There was a little smell of dampness in the room(#102) but it did not matter much to us as we needed the room only for overnight stay.
There were positive vibes inside the property. The staff prepared food according to my children in a very familiar way. All the guests were of good quality. When you eat in a restaurant with good quality guests, the experience becomes different.
Staff was friendly and the staff were pretty helpful and knowledgeable.
(Through the front office staff, I met Ravi ji, the auto driver, who was very nice. I was with him all three days. I want to mention him because in your next visit, if you want to travel by auto, you must go with him. His mobile number is 9559167541. You can go with him blindly.)

The unending renovation since 3 years
This property was a crown jewel of UP tourism on budget value for money AC rooms, good service and home feel food. The present is a disaster with the unending renovation since the last 3 years. A tower has been built but the new rooms are incomplete, and the existing rooms need lot of repairs. The prices of rooms have increased by more than 35% but it’s nothing worth the tariff. It used to boast a huge parking which is no longer available, and the new parking in basement is not yet complete. The food quality also needs to improve so does the bar. It seems the govt officials are more interested in giving repeated contracts to vendors with no completion date. They are into a very sorry state of affairs and need to pull up their socks

Very nice place to stay
We went for Darshan of baba Kashi Vishwanath and preferred to stay in UPSTDC Rahi Tourist Buonglow at Sarnath place. We loved to stay there our experience was wonderful. Neat and Clean spacious room reasonable rates good tasty food. Very nice polite and good staff. Overall five star rating

Can improve, don't have to be always Sarkari (or Government outlet feel)
We were looking for a hotel with parking space in Varanasi. Had been to Rahi Tourist Bungalow earlier in 2012 too. So opted for it. With great difficulty, got an AC Deluxe room for 3 nights for 3 adults. Reached Varanasi at around 2.00 pm, it was difficult to enter through the main road (near the Cantt Flyover) as there was a traffic chaos due to the buses.
Finally reached the hotel at 2.15 pm. Took our car inside the compound (remembered it because of our earlier experience). There was no one in the reception area. We waited for some time, hoping some one would turn up, but no one turned up. Then we came out and started asking people in the corridor if they knew where is the person in reception. No one had an idea.
Finally a shabby looking guy turned up (Mr. Tiwari). He was surely not the manager or the receptionist. He asked if we had a booking and we showed our booking documents. He was helpful. He started the process of check in and informed that the receptionist was having lunch. After a few minutes, the reception guy turned up - our check in process (manual was almost complete). Keys were handed out to another person (Mr. Manoj) and he was told to show different rooms (in the category available). Mr. Manoj was really helpful (like a Man Friday), he took our luggage to 1st floor room and then also guided us with regards to parking in the compound.
The room size was good, washroom was huge. The room had an LED TV (Samsung), and ample space for keeping our luggage. An extra bed was immediately put in our room (we had paid for the same). The room had a king size bed.
Please don't expect luxury feel. Don't know why they still have to give it a government office feel.
Anyway we went for lunch in their in house restaurant which is kept like a mess or a dining hall. The food was really good and spice level could be customised (best part). In fact we mostly had our dinners here.
Here we were informed that they have started giving complimentary breakfast to all bookings post 1st May 2023. So by default we had fixed breakfast for 2 people in our room rate. For the 3rd person, we could order and pay.
In terms of price, quantity and quality, we have no complaint.
It would have been great if they could have more options (only Poori Bhaji or Parantha with Dahi and Pickle) in the complimentary breakfast option.
We didn't have issues in terms of room cleanliness during our stay. Only once we had an issue when there was no water in the washroom but that also was resolved within a few minutes.
Would love if UP Tourism focuses slightly on making the property more hotel like and not like a government run shabby facility. This place has a lot of potential and with right attitude this place could become one of the hottest properties in Varanasi

Beautiful garden,spacious rooms & peaceful atmoshphere.
There are 2 Rahi Tourist bunglows in Varanasi, one near Cantt Junction and the other one in Sarnath.
The Varanasi one is huge with many room/Dorm options, the overall room aesthetics are average and i would not rate them more than 6, the upkeep also is not upto the mark.
The one is sarnath is beautiful, the rooms are spacious, garden is well maintained and locations is the best on one side you have the Japanese Temple on the other side is the chinese temple, and as you move 200 mt you have the famous Stupa and the Archaelogical Museum.
We loved the place, it capture the true essence on the peace that Sarnath has.
Also both the places had delicious homely food.
