Any closer to the ocean and you'd fall in

Looking at the ocean from your bed or from the little seating area in front of your bungalow is just the ticket. Combine that with a very clean place and friendly staff for an unbeatable price, you can't go wrong

Owners are devils from hell with no sense of compassion or humanity at all

My wife had severe nerve issues and was barely able to walk due to extreme pain. She was going for treatment at a place close to Bamboo Village and it was easiest for her to walk through their premises since the available walkway was hard for her as it was very narrow and she could not walk with a support next to her.
Our auto dropped us off at the property. As I was helping her walk, the owner came out and began screaming at us to get off the property. There were no signs posted anywhere that we were not allowed to walk through its premises. Even if it was, basic sense of humanity would dictate that there is a person in obvious pain. Let her use it. In fact, a compassionate human would invite you to do it.
India is known throughout the world for its welcoming nature. In fact, the Gita has a saying that guests are akin to Gods. These people were anything but welcoming. The way they acted was nothing short of demonic.
I cannot vouch for the place or guest experience. But what I can say with utmost certainty is I will never EVER stay at a place owned by any human that lacks even a shred of humanity.

Super friendly staff - good location

Good location if you are looking for budget place near both beach, walks and shopping. See view and green garden. Super helpful and friendly staff. Big room, simple standard. Stayed for three weeks while on ayurvedic treatment in the same block.

Very peaceful and relaxing

I really enjoyed my stay in this calm and peaceful environment. The owner was always friendly and helpful and the price was lower compared to the other Cottages on the North Cliff. The room is simply furnished but you can find all you need. The beach is just some minutes away and there are many decent restaurants close by. Can recommend this place for a stay in Varkala!

Nice resort

We extended our stay twice because it is simply a nice place. The owner seems to be a very nice person (towards other people and also towards his cute dog). The prices are reasonable and the location is good.
We stayed in a bamboo hut for 4 days, it was clean enough and we were provided with towels and a bin. The only problem was the ants, but this is everywhere in the nature so i wouldn't complain about it, just know that you will have to deal with many of them, different sizes and all if you chose the bamboo huts. They also have some kind of hotel rooms available if you can't handle bugs though!
The garden is nice and chilled, with hammocks in the shadow of coconut trees and a view on the ocean. You can always here the waves and the birds, it's a peaceful place when there is no temple festival going on during you stay.
I would recommend this place if you're on a budget and not bothered by insects.
