Superb stay in Varkala near Black Beach

The Paddle Cult is a really nice place - even a yoga shala on the roof! The bungalow we stayed in was supernice, the staff always smiling and helpful. And compared to other places to stay in India - its clean and well kept. Please also notice the lovely woodwork, custom made furniture and layout of the area. Exquisite!
The only minus is that on some disco nights or parties (Christmas party or weekly BBQ), the speakers are charged too a high volume so the kids we saw others brought with them had trouble sleeping.

Paddle cult surf and yoga was the perfect place at the end of our short stay in Kerala. It made me reminisce of happy days backpacking in my twenties but this time with air con and a spacious pretty bungalow. Set in a well tended garden around the pool it’s a place to relax, read, have a swim.
Sangitta is the manger. She is very helpful. She made our stay comfortable and helped us find the places we wanted to go. The other staff are happy, they keep the pool and garden looking lovely.
The surfers running the lessons are fantastic. You will get one to one in the sea and they are really happy if you manage to stand.
It’s a few minutes walk down the road to the beach where there are cafes restaurants and shops on the cliff. Or cut through lumuma which has a pretty garden it takes two mi utes to the cliff.
If you want to go to South Cliff get a tuk tuk it’s not far.
The sea is very rough (September) and it’s advisable not to swim after 09.30.

Paddle Community

Paddle Cult. It’s all about welcoming and community. The staff and owners are amazing and became good friends. So.. we only extended our stay around 5 times.. we just couldn’t leave. We really became part of the paddle cult. The surfing lessons are great and the location is right by the beach. The breakfast is traditional or western (so go for traditional) and super tasty, especially after a morning session its nice that they come and ask if you’d like some more. The rooms are super comfy and clean. We stayed during the Onam celebration and had such a beautiful experience, we were fully accepted into the community and made friends for life. We will for sure be back. If you’re looking to surf, make friends, enjoy, hang out and relax go stay @ and become part of paddle cult. If you’re not sure just check out their instagram.

Amazing place - Amazing people - Amazing food - A wonderful place !!!

Wonderful place, fantastic service, great food, beautiful pure energy flowing from the hearts of the employees. Spotlessly warm and wonderful atmosphere. The resort is neat and wonderfully kept clean. Brilliant cooks and a brilliant chef. Very good food. Nice swimming pool. Very close to the beach and nearby shops. Of course, the excellent owner. I came back from here in a state of great bliss, I will definitely come back here - I love you all - you are wonderful and wonderful beings...

Very homely & tastefully done property!!!

We enjoyed our stay @ Paddle cult,
The rooms are clean & comfortable, the manger Manas was very resourceful & helpful
We enjoyed the breakfasts there,
The chef’s Mini and vineetha were very good.
The property is in a good location
Walking distance from the cliff etc.
The decor is tastefully done, with creative artifacts, it has a nice garden too.
