Worst experience ever
I recently had a very unpleasant experience at Grand Mandarmoni, which has left me questioning the reliability of both the hotel and the Expedia platform. My booking was made for two days (14th to 16th March) through Expedia. However, upon arrival, the hotel staff refused to allow us entry, stating that they were not accepting any bookings from Expedia and had been informed of this earlier.
I immediately contacted Expedia's customer care, where their representatives tried to get in touch with the hotel manager. Unfortunately, after several attempts, the manager did not answer their calls. After a prolonged back-and-forth with Expedia, I was informed they would try to book an alternative hotel. But seeing as it was during the holiday season, I was worried about finding another room. So, in a panic, I ended up booking a different hotel at double the price using MakeMyTrip.
This experience was frustrating and stressful, especially given the uncertainty about whether I would even have a place to stay. I am left wondering whose fault this situation is – the hotel, Expedia, or the customer who trusted the platform. Either way, this was a major inconvenience, and I highly recommend steering clear of Grand Mandarmoni and reconsidering booking through Expedia.
I can only imagine how much worse this could have been if I were traveling with my family. This incident has definitely shaken my trust in both the hotel and the booking platform.
