The Mesare Jungle Resort
Resort Mesare nalazi se u Nusa Penidi te ima vrt i terasu. Objekt je udaljen 3 km od vodopada Peguyangan, a nudi recepciju otvorenu 24 sata dnevno i besplatni WiFi. Sobe u resortu Mesare imaju balkon i prostor za sjedenje.

A great hotel very isolated and locked away from the daily rush of life
An amazing place in the jungle. You hear the birds at night and have an entire villa to yourself. We loved it. If you want to get away from everyone this is the place to visit for a few days.
They had a nice restaurant, for all
Meals. Food was good and nice choice of all types of food. Service was great and fast.
They have a nice pool. It’s not big, but not many people use it as it’s not heated.
A few issues to note. This needs you to be fit, as lots of stairs are need to walk so not wheelchair accessible. The villas are great but a little wear and tiar is noted.

To have the Mini bar filled as we had to order coke or hottled water from the restaurant everyday.
The WhatsApp communication seemed slow. I used the in house phone once I arrived to organise my needs, it’s more direct.
Overall a great place to stay. Keep inn mind it’s in the middle of the Island so a good 30 mins drive from the port….but the hotel will pick you up for 20 euros …and it’s well worth the planning and help and hospitality….

A lovely jungle stay which will suit solo, cute couples and families.
Beautiful eco hotel set in the centre of Nusa Penida in a quiet and natural setting amongst the jungle.
This property is beautifully maintained, the rooms are exactly as advertised in serine bamboo huts with semi outdoor bathrooms and a beautiful private garden shower.
The infinity pool and activities lawn is a great spot to sit and soak in the sun and the background chirping of the birds and insects.
My favourite part was the hotel restaurant with a delicious selection of local and western food, aesthetically presented in a way that will make you want to take snaps to show off you your friends.
If there was a downside it’s that it is in a remote location which means it’s quiet but stop at the mini mart for snacks and drinks if you want those.
However the central location means it’s closer to key spots like Kelingking beach than many other resorts. However be prepared that you’ll be hiring a driver most of the time. They have scooters for hire to guests but with the condition of Penida’s roads I would only be riding if you are a genuinely good rider, not for beginners and not after a few bintangs.

Awful Experience
We have to say that we had high hopes for this hotel given the pictures posted, but unfortunately we had a bad experience the 3 days we stayed.
This experience was mainly based on the fact that we had the constant feeling that we were camping instead of being in a hotel. The reason for this is that we found gecko poop over our bed the first day, receiving a poor answer by the receptionist saying “this usually happens and there is nothing we can do”. We found the same for three days in a row, having to clean the poop by myself everyday (in my honeymoon).
In addition with this gecko incident, I have to say that we are not fans of bugs or animals and that’s why we chose a well graded hotel for Nusa. Unfortunately, during every night we could hear gecko sounds inside and outside the room, creating a bad atmosphere for those who doesn’t like sharing the room with animals.
Being those the main two factors that explain our bad experience, we had a few others that didn’t help either: there were two light shutdowns out of the three nights we stayed and the wifi never worked in the room, even having weak connection in the restaurant. About the food, we tried some good and bad. Last day, unfortunately, we received some undercooked churros.
On the positive side, we have to be fair and say that the place by itself was wonderful, sorrounded by beatiful nature. In addition with this, the attention on the restaurant was very good.
To sum it up, for the price of the hotel and for “being part of the top 10% worldwide” we consider the experience was very poor and misguiding.

Hotel in spectacular surroundings
The hotel is wonderful and spectacular. In the middle of the jungle and also the island, so it is halfway to all the sights. The downside is that there is nothing nearby and for anything, you have to approach one of the villages, which means a half-hour drive to and from a forest track with the economic cost and discomfort that that entails. On the other hand, beware of the transportation issue, from the reception of the hotel we were advised to use local drivers and not the official transportation of the hotel, because it is more expensive. Well, in the end, the cheap stuff is expensive. The local driver recommended by the reception left us lying on the last day just as we were leaving. And at the front desk we left the money to pay for a prior Service, and they stayed at the front desk with that money and then there was the local driver claiming us. Very unpleasant. Also from the reception we were recommended one night a restaurant on the beach that turned out to be the most expensive in the area, with very little Mood compared to others that were full and had musical performances, and we were told that they would have a detail with us for heeding the recommendation and it was not. In short, the hotel is great, and highly recommended, but beware of certain "offers".

In the middle of nowhere
We have received 2 bungalows, very welcoming. The architecture we loved very much, house with thatched roof, a huge bed and if you are afraid of mosquitoes that this season there was not even one there is the Musketeer store.
