Old Jakarta, a neighborhood in Jakarta, is home to Mercure Jakarta Batavia. Thamrin City Shopping Mall and Grand Indonesia are worth checking out if shopping is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore White Sand Beach PIK 2. Dunia Fantasi and Allianz Ecopark Ancol are also worth visiting. This hotel features a bar/lounge.

Close to Fatahillah Square
It is a beautiful colonial style building that is less than 40 years old. It is about 5-10 mins walk to Fatahillah Sq.
On my first stay, I booked a Privilege room with a balcony on the 2nd floor near the pool/gym area. It faced a nice courtyard with lush greenery. It became clear it is used as a smoking recreational area with people sitting just outside your room. The smoke permeates the room. If you are a non-smoker, it becomes quite nauseating. It is also quite noisy. I do not recommend this room due to privacy issues as well. You cannot leave the curtains open as people can see straight into the room.
The room itself is satisfactory with a lovely king size bed. No plastic bottles of water are provided. Instead a jug is provided with a water dispenser outside the room. It has the annoying bathroom with clear glass visible from the bedroom. A body wash, shampoo and hand wash dispensers are provided. No body lotion so bring your own.
There were a complimentary coke and Sprite cans which we appreciated in the humid weather.
The pool is 1.1m deep and is welcomed from the heat and humidity.
On my second stay, I had a standard room. The size and setup were the same as a Privileged Room. The difference was that there were no complimentary drinks, no hand towels, no toothbrushes and shavers that were present in the Privilege Room. Even the style of bedroom shoes was different.
Breakfast was very nice with options for Indonesian and Western choices.

Very satisfying.
Staying at Mercure Batavia is a very enjoyable experience. This hotel has a strategic location with a comfortable atmosphere and beautiful views, supported by clean rooms, spacious, as well as complete facilities. The Danu room staff and staff were very friendly, quick, and professional. Overall, Mercure Batavia is a very suitable choice for business trips, family holidays, as well as staycations because it is able to provide an effective, comfortable stay experience, and make you want to return again. The staff (danu) is friendly and sensitive when we need something, it happened I did not find drinking water and it turned out to meet in the corridor with mas danu and then asked and explained by him even in his teaspoon. And the hotel is very nice, the location is strategic, the view towards the old town, the room is relaxed and comfortable, as well as the room is very clean and Fresh.recomended for those on vacation to the old town.

A wonderful Stay and Erna was a superstar!
We booked one night in a Junior Suite and we were very happy with our stay.
Only 5 minutes stroll from historic Batavia area, the hotel is imposing but welcoming.
A few days before our stay, Erna reached out to confirm a few details, such as arrival time and even by text her customer care was excellent.
We were also checked-in by Erna, who is a great ambassador for the hotel; friendly, helpful and engaged. She recognised our Platinum status and even apologised that there was no upgrade to The Executive Suite, as the property was full. This was not an issue as we actually liked the Junior suite better!
Our suite was spacious and nicely furnished with a separate living room, bedroom and bathroom. There was everything you could need for a great night’s stay. The bed was very comfy and had perfect pillows! There was also a nice soaking tub.
There is a lovely central courtyard full of plants and flowers, and wonderful scents. This led to a large swimming pool, though the area was being prepared for a function so we couldn’t get so close but it looked nice.
We also liked the various boards dotted around the property detailing the history of the hotel. I did think it was much older, in a good way!
We would happily have paid double what we did for such great service and a very nice suite and should we need to rest our heads in the area we would certainly stay here again.
