What a place! Just amazing

This place is simply amazing and in a great location in the main village. A Shabby Chic designed hostel with great private rooms and fantastic staff. I'd give it 10 blobs if I could.. no 15..its that good. Staff are lovely and helpful beyond helpful. One day they scootered my beach towel to me when I forgot it.. a 40 minute round trip.. unbelievable. I stayed in a private room which was massive and had a fantastic funky design, comfy bed and nice bathroom for £17 a night including breakfast and a free pick up from the port.. an absolute bargain.. can't wait till I can re-visit this little piece of heaven in the paradise that is Karimunjawa.

Great place

Stayed 4 nights here with my family, 2 kids, an infant, wife and mother in law. We rented 2 family rooms that suited us perfectly. Each room had AC which worked great. Both rooms had hot water as well, which may seem weird to write about in a review but many place in Indonesia do not have hot water so it was a nice surprise. No TV's in the rooms but you don't go to a place like this to watch TV, you come to explore the island(s) and hang out with the other guests and staff, so no TV is actually a good thing. Room and facility decor is cool, not sure how to describe it, like hippy traveler feel or something, but it done very tastefully, you will look at a lot of it and go "well that's a clever use of *item*".
The staff is awesome, always quick to help with anything you need, from getting more towels to booking a car or boat. They are also just fun to hang out with and BS with, almost all are down to hang out and chat. They serve breakfast here which was done great, no complaints. I would highly recommend this place to others and the other places owned and ran but Satu Dunia tour and travel.

Nice place with bad service

The common area is really nice it has some hammocks, swings and even some nice plants, which give the hostel a nice relaxing vibe. The beds are comfortable but a bit squeaky. There is nothing to complain about when it comes to the cleanliness of the place. But unfortunately the staff is not helpful, they are not rude they just not helping you if you need any information. They only try to sell you there tours, but if you need some simple help like "where can I buy some fresh fruit?" or "when can I buy a ticket for the ferry?" they won't be able ore are not willing to help you. The bad service is really disappointing especially since the hostel itself is pretty nice.

Good but not helpful

Good stay.
But at the end when we were trying to leave the island (an impossible task to prewarn). Staff were good at lending us scooter to get our tickets, but not helpful in helping us get to our next destination the day we wanted to leave saying we needed to let them know day before, happened to stumble accross another hostel (shout out coconut house, Indra, ironically the sister hostel) two mins walk away, and they helped organise a bus for us! got our tickets sorted for us and gave us their number in case we had any troubles for our onward journey.
I did say this to Bondhi tree staff, as I wasnt sure whether it was simply a language barrier, but suggested if they weren’t able to help guests in future, to guide them to where someone else could help them (considering they were sister hostels) this didn't quite make sense!
Hopefully they take this advice on board, as it was a lovely hostel. No hard feelings whatsoever!
