Very good option to stay im Labuan Bajo
Our experience was very good, the owner of the hotel received us and was extremely gentle. He helped us to get a moto very fast (about 20 minutes), he even packed our breakfast very early for the next day because we were going out to a tour. Next day we took breakfast at the hotel and was better than expected.

DO NOT STAY HERE – THREATENING & AGGRESSIVE MANAGER
I honestly never leave reviews like this, but this experience was so bad that I feel like I need to warn people. If you're thinking about staying at Theodor Hotel… SERIOUSLY DON’T!!!
The place itself is only ok, very dated and run down.The manager is very aggressive, rude and threatening. We left feeling completely uncomfortable and unsafe.
On our last night of staying here, we got back to the hotel around 10:30 PM after a long day. My boyfriend had unfortunately lost his bank card and we only had 500,000 IDR in cash left. We explained the situation to the manager but he just shrugged his shoulders and looked us up and down.
We had rented a motorbike through the hotel for three days (total cost was 600,000 IDR) but no one ever told us it needed to be paid in cash.
We tried to explain this to the manager and let him know we could pay the rest in the morning before we left. Instead of talking to us or even listening, he was lying back with his feet up on the wall, watching football on his phone at full volume, completely ignoring us. After about about 2 minutes, he turned the volume down slightly and looked at us like we were annoying him, he clearly couldn’t be bothered. When he eventually got up he snapped at us saying “The motorbike owner actually came at 1 PM today and you weren’t here!!”. But nobody told us we needed to return the bike by a certain time, or that anyone would be coming. If someone had just told us when the bike needed to be returned or how payment worked, we would’ve sorted it out right away. Again just a total lack of communication
The next morning when we went to check out, things escalated very quickly. As soon as we approached the desk, he started getting loud and aggressive. He told us the motorbike was from a separate company to the hotel which we were already aware of.
Instead of just having a normal conversation, he got really aggressive. Then came the disturbing, threatening comments like:
“I know what you people are like”
“I know who you are.”
“I know where you live and what you do.”
“I go in and check your room every day.”
“If anything is wrong with the room, I’ll contact you.”
“I have your passport details so I can find you.”
It was honestly creepy. He was clearly trying to intimidate us and it worked as we were both totally freaked out. It felt more like being threatened by a stranger than checking out of a hotel.
And then after aggressively shouting at us completely out of nowhere he suddenly goes, “Look I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” Like he realised he’d gone too far and crossed a line. But by then, we were so shaken and didn’t know what to say.
We gave him the 500,000 IDR we had and he stood there slowly counting it in front of us with a sneer look on his face. When we asked if we needed to settle anything else for the room, he just said, “I check your room every day like I said if there’s a problem, I’ll know.” It was honestly such a strange, uncomfortable way to be treated as a guest.
The part that really made the whole situation ridiculous is that the solution was very simple. On our way to the airport, we stopped at an ATM, took out the remaining 100,000 IDR and gave it to our taxi driver to pass along, that was it. No problem.
If the manager had just taken a minute to talk to us calmly like a reasonable person, this could have been sorted in two minutes. But instead, he chose to make it into a massive, unnecessary confrontation one that left us feeling anxious, intimidated and genuinely uncomfortable.
Bottom line is that no guests should EVER be threatened or treated rudely especially when paying a hefty price to stay here!!!
I’ve traveled a lot and stayed in all kinds of places, but I’ve never been treated like this anywhere. This guy SHOULD NOT be working in hospitality!!
Please think twice before booking Theodor Hotel. The stress and discomfort is not worth it.

The old man at reception is the most unfriendly man I’ve met in Flores. He acts like I owe him money and has a tone as if he’s ur boss. He also charged me 150k for a broken glass, which is just ridiculous and scammy given local prices. Other staffs are very nice though.

A wonder find with spectacular views
What a wonderful find. This is a small hotel with nine lodges on the side of a hill with the most spectacular views of the ocean. The restaurant is slightly higher up and is a fabulous place to eat with views across land and sea. The rooms were spacious, clean and charming with balcony views over the hotel pool and the ocean. Staff were friendly and very accommodating. The receptionist organised scooters for us for three days. The hotel is away from town so scooters or taxi rides are essential to get about. He also organised a small boat to take us to Rangko Cave. The boat was about a twenty minute ride away. We also rode to visit a couple of waterfalls where we swam. We were at the Theodor from Monday evening to Friday morning, when we left for a three day boat trip. That was long enough to see what was around locally. There is a small pool at the hotel which, again, has spectacular views. I would suggest that this hotel wouldn’t be ideal for those who are unsteady on their feet or need wheelchair access. I highly recommend this hotel, it was idyllic.
