Resting

Great little hotel in the most beautiful place on the island.Very quiet,bungalows well,staff with superb care pool and price more than crrect.Only little downside not great food.

Paradise

This is pure paradise. The location in my opinion was the best on the island (I walked the circumference and base it on that) .
Accommodation is basic but clean and comfortable and fits the ‘island living’ vibe that Gili air is. Anyone wanting luxury don’t travel to gili air.
Staff were so welcoming and friendly.
The beach right on the doorstep with bean bags and beach beds .
Pool area clean and nice pool
Best bit - turtles and loads of them directly in front of the accommodation. We saw about 8 all at once. Snorkel between 8 and 11.30 when the tide is in. After this time it’s too shallow and risk being injured by sharp coral.
Watch for sea urchins they are everywhere but when tide is in it’s perfectly safe .
Location is close to loads of lovely beach bars and restaurants all serving good food. Can also watch sunrise from
Directly outside accommodation and sunset about ten mins up the beach (turn left out of accommodation)

Classless

Pool ok, but accommodation was tired needing replacing/repair or cleaning. Outside area overgrown/uncared for. Staff relaxed responding to needs when asked. Ok if on a budget but don't expect class. Read the small print on booking.com if going through them as can't cancel once booked only modify/change.

Nice.

Quiet and nice with proximity to restaurants and bars. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food very good. Very small sandy beach below the hotel. Nice sun and eating beds in front of the sea. The pool was super fresh. We got Bungalow No 10 which was at the very bottom of the row and was really disturbed by the staff behind the bungalow and wifi was no big deal inside the bungalow. The small fridge was not cleaned when we arrived and there are no clean shower towels.

Check room before paying

We booked 10 nights back in November 2023 to stay at the end of January 2024 (so not a last minute booking). We had to pay at the hotel on arrival.
We arrived and were given a room down the back away from a family with a baby (at the hotels suggestion).
Our room was extremely dark and dingy. Locks were difficult to lock. Shower had a slight trickle of water, no amenities as per our booking. The bed was rock hard with only a top sheet, no doona or extra pillows.
We complained to management who offered another room but for only 6 days out of our 10 day booking, it also had a trickle from the shower and was not much better.
We walked around the island and decided to book elsewhere. Upon returning to Sandy Beach Bungalows, initially they were not willing to refund us. We then spoke to the owner who agreed to refund half our booking only after we explained our experience, but we had to cancel through Booking.com so we could not leave feedback.
Advice to others, check out your room before paying anything to the hotel.
I am very disappointed that they would only offer a 50% refund rather than the whole amount less one night.
