Trips Old Town Semarang

The first time staying here was very satisfying, trying to swim directly at the aid of the hotel staff prepared for swimming towels and food. The room is clean and the sunset is beautiful. Pleased to find a hotel near the old town at an affordable price. When we go to Semarang we will pass to the Old City Horizon Semarang again

Not recommended

We had booked a superior room. Instead of windows, there was a square of glass blocks. The room was dustier and oppressive. As an alternative, we were offered a room of the same size and equipment, with windows, double price. That was pretty bad. Bed linen seemed old, old stains were visible. Very dirty and worn out, in various places on the floor in the bathroom other people's hair. Attempting to open the curtain, the entire ledge fell down, with the curtains dust and dried insects. On a shelf, a street of tiny ants. Even in the hallways of old, stained carpeting, everything badly cleaned. The pool is located next to the restaurant, directly at the elevator under a deep slope. No sunlight and on the presentation plate of everyone sitting in the restaurant. Perfectly fine for children, but otherwise indiscussable to use. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the Indonesian breakfast buffet is great. Still, unfortunately, not again. The price-performance ratio was simply miserable.

Experience Details
Location & Access
The hotel’s location makes it easy to walk to the Old Town area (photo spot, culinary, heritage building), and access to the two hospitals on my agenda feels practical—a drive to RSI Sultan Agung (14 August afternoon) and to RSUP dr. Kariadi (15 August morning) is said to be easy.
The surrounding area is relatively lively until night, so find food/mini markets is easy.
Check-in process (August 14, noon/afternoon)
The front office is friendly and informative. The administration process is fast; deposit & verification is running normally.
Request room with 1 large bed met. The room card works without problems. The elevator waits a minute at the busy hour.
Superior Room – 1 Large Bed
Size & layout: Relief enough for 1 or 2 people, still convenient to open suitcases.
Bed & pillow: Beds tend to be firm (good for the back), pillows 2–4 pieces; sleeping pretty well.
AC & noise: The air conditioning is stable; soundproof is good, only occasional hallway sounds.
Lighting & contact stop: Room lights are adequate; contact stops on the side of the bed are available (plus points for HP power content after from the hospital).
Bathroom: Hot water quickly out, water pressure okay. Standard equipment is available. There's little age mark on the ceramic/fitting but it still works well.
Cleaning: Generally clean (harum linen, neat flooring). There's a minor stain near the door--not disturbing, but visible.
Wi-Fi: Browsing/stream light is safe. Upload documents a little slow; enough for light work.
Breakfast (15 August, morning)
Order: Indonesian menu mix & bread/melissa/fruit. Not luxurious, but quite variable for class size.
Taste & replenishment: Standard taste, nothing really stands out. The refill menu is done, although at the peak of the meal hours can wait a few minutes.
Food area: Tertata, staff clean the table.
Staff service
Housekeeping quickly responded to additional mineral water requests.
FO & resto polite and helps give direction to the dining around. Overall, hospitality feels.
Sleep & Comfort (important due to hospital agenda)
After the trip to RSI Sultan Agung in the afternoon, return to the room for a quite comfortable rest: Air conditioning is cold, hot water works, and a firm bed helps sleep.
Morning to RSUP dr. Kariadi is uncontrollable due to easy access.
Walks around the hotel
Old Town is worth selling: you can take pictures of heritage facades, peas, and find night snacks without having to go far. The sidewalk at some point is pretty crowded, but safe.
Things that can be enhanced
1. Small care details (golf stain/bathroom edges) should be updated to make the first impression more primitive.
2. Wi-Fi upload is enhanced for guests who need to submit files/medical documents.
3. Replenish breakfast faster at busy hours.
For Management (Constructive Notes)
Minor refresh programs in corridors and rooms (carpet, floor, bathroom sealant) will immediately elevate quality perception.
Adding a healthy breakfast option (more varied shredded fruit, yogurt/plain oats) will be appreciated by guests on the health journey.
Tips for Other Guests
Ask for a room away from the elevator if sound sensitive.
If you have an agenda to RSI Sultan Agung/RSUP dr. Kariadi, schedule an early departure to anticipate the red light.
Exploring the Old Town night is great for photographs — bring a small tripod if you like long exposure.
Come to breakfast early so the choice is still complete.
Conclusion
Staying overnight at Horison Hotel Old Town Semarang feels practical and comfortable for a combination of hospital check-up + light sightseeing. Strategic location, friendly staff, comfortable rooms with little record of care, and plenty of breakfast. For my needs this time, this hotel is recommended—especially if you want easy access to the Old Town area as well as mobility to RSI Sultan Agung/RSUP dr. Kariadi.

The hotel is baguss, the lobby is clean, the reception staff is friendly and cares about bangett, the room is also very comfortable, comfyyy abisss, the beds are very good and the beds are very good, the main thing is good and good, the reception staff is friendly, the wardim is a baguss dining place, the dimsum is very good & cheap very cheap !!!!

It's impressive to stay on the old town's horizon, close to the old town just a few minutes' walk.

Hotel comfortable and pleasant, clean, staff friendly all, when breakfast delicious and varied food, welcomed and served very well, facilities very satisfying, very close to the old town, only a few minutes to walk has arrived, beautiful views at night
